The aftermath of the club raid loomed heavy over the Bellucci estate. It felt like the calm before the storm, which promised to bring devastation rather than relief. Inside the mansion's thick walls, the usual quietness had turned tense and expectant, as though even the air itself held its breath, waiting for Dominic's counterstrike.

Elara could feel it, the unease seeping into every corner of the house, settling in the hearts of the people within. She sat alone in her room, replaying the previous night's events in her mind. Though she'd managed to keep her composure, it was only now, in the silence, that the full weight of it sank in. It was one thing to hear about the ruthlessness of this world; it was another to witness it firsthand.

But she couldn't afford to let fear cripple her. She was in too deep now.

A soft knock at her door pulled her from her thoughts. "Come in," she called.

Luca stepped inside, his expression a mix of concern and something softer, something she couldn't quite place. "Hey, I wanted to check on you."

"I'm fine," she replied, though her voice didn't carry the confidence she wished it did. She could feel the fatigue, the emotional toll of everything weighing on her.

Luca raised an eyebrow, not buying her answer. "You don't have to pretend with me, Elara. I know last night was intense."

She let out a breath, letting some of her guard down. "It was...a lot. But I'll get used to it."

He stepped closer, his hand finding her shoulder in a gesture of reassurance. "No one expects you to get used to this overnight. And for what it's worth, you handled it better than most would. Better than I did, the first time."

Surprised, she looked up at him, catching the flicker of vulnerability in his eyes. It was rare to see Luca without his mask of confidence, and it made her feel closer to him, knowing that even he had struggled at some point.

"Thank you," she said softly. "It means a lot, knowing I have you and Adrian to count on."

Luca's fingers brushed against her cheek, lingering there as his gaze held hers. For a moment, the tension in the air shifted into something else, something warmer and more dangerous. She could feel her pulse quicken, her breath catching as she waited, half-expecting him to close the space between them.

But then he pulled away, his expression guarded. "We'll always be here for you. Remember that."

The moment was broken, and the tension between them dissipated, though it left a lingering ache in her chest.

Just then, Adrian's voice echoed from the hallway. "Luca, Elara—meet me in the study. Now."

Luca's expression shifted back to business, his eyes hardening. He gave her a nod, and they both left her room, heading down the corridor to the study.

When they entered the study, Adrian was already at his desk, poring over documents. His face was set in a grim expression, a tension in his posture that she hadn't seen before. Whatever he had discovered, it was serious.

"What's going on?" Luca asked, stepping up to the desk.

Adrian looked up, his gaze sharp and unyielding. "Dominic has mobilized his men. He's making his move faster than we anticipated."

Elara felt a shiver of apprehension. "What does that mean? Is he coming here?"

"Not directly," Adrian replied, his tone steely. "But he's targeting our assets, and he's doing it with precision. He's already hit two of our warehouses, and he's threatening more. This isn't just retaliation. He's trying to cripple us."
