The central building was a maze of concrete hallways and steel doors, the air thick with tension as Elara, Luca, and their team advanced deeper into the heart of the facility. Every step seemed amplified in the silence, every sound magnified, but they had no time to waste. Dominic's men were likely spread throughout the building, preparing for their move, and their goal was clear: get to the main vault and secure the area before the enemy could organize.

The night had descended into chaos. Elara's heartbeat thrummed in her ears as she followed Luca's lead. He was a shadow, moving with the kind of lethal precision that made her feel both safe and small in comparison. His presence beside her grounded her in the madness, and yet, there was something about his every movement, every glance, that spoke of the dangers they were about to face.

They reached a corner of the building, and Luca gestured for her to pause. He signaled for the rest of the team to take up positions as well. The plan was simple: move quietly, stay out of sight, and clear the area before they made their push for the vault.

"Stay sharp," Luca muttered, his eyes scanning the hallway ahead. "This is where it gets dangerous."

Elara nodded, her breath shallow as she checked the knife at her side. She wasn't a liability—not anymore. She could feel the sharp edge of her weapon, the weight of it reassuring her, even as the fear of the unknown gnawed at her.

They continued forward in a single file, the dim light of the hallways casting long shadows across their path. It was eerie how quiet everything was—too quiet. The buzz of the security systems they had disabled was gone, leaving only the distant hum of the ventilation system.

Luca turned another corner, and then there it was: the vault door. Massive, steel, reinforced and set deep into the building's foundation.

Adrian's voice crackled in her earpiece. "We're in position. You've got a clear shot to the vault. Take it."

Her heart skipped a beat. This was it. The moment that could make or break everything.

Luca was already on the move, a small explosive charge in his hand. He moved like a phantom, planting the device against the door. The countdown began, the seconds stretching out as Elara felt the weight of the moment press in on her. This was their only chance to hit Dominic's operation hard, to cripple his supply line before he could strike back.

"Three... Two... One."

The explosion shook the building, the sound of a low, thunderous rumble that reverberated through the walls. For a moment, everything went still. Then, the vault door exploded outward, the thick metal splitting like paper.

Elara lunged forward, adrenaline surging through her veins. The rush of it—knowing that they had just breached one of Dominic's most secure locations—was dizzying. Her hand gripped the handle of her knife tighter, her pulse racing as she stepped over the debris and into the vault room.

Inside, the sight was enough to make her blood run cold. The vault was packed with crates, stacks of cash, weapons, and other illicit goods—resources that were the lifeblood of Dominic's empire. But it wasn't the contents of the vault that made Elara's stomach drop.

It was the men. Dozens of them, armed to the teeth, now fully aware of their presence.

"Shit!" Luca cursed under his breath, spinning toward Elara. "We've got company."

There was no time to think. The first shot rang out, and instinct took over. Elara ducked behind a crate as the gunfire erupted around them. Her heart was pounding, but her movements were sharp and precise—she had trained for this.
