AUTHOR POV

Shivani groggily opened her eyes, rubbing the sleep from them. She wasn't ready to face the day yet. But, the creaking of the floorboards outside her room and the muffled hum of her sister's morning routine made her sit up.

Her sister, Sarah, was already up and about, getting ready for uni. Shivani could hear the sound of drawers opening and closing, followed by the rustling of clothes.

"Sarah, can you please keep it down?" Shivani called out, her voice laced with sleep.

"Sorry, Shivi!" Sarah replied, her voice muffled from the bathroom. "I'm running late! Mom wants me to help with breakfast."

Shivani flopped back onto her pillow, letting out a dramatic sigh. She hated mornings. Especially when Sarah's morning enthusiasm was so... enthusiastic.

As she lay there, Shivani's gaze wandered around her cluttered room. Posters of her favorite bands adorned the walls, and her desk was piled high with textbooks and notes. Her phone, charging on the nightstand, buzzed with notifications.

With a reluctant groan, Shivani tossed off her covers and swung her legs over the side of the bed. Time to face the day.

Before she could enter the bathroom, her phone vibrated again indicating a call from her best friend, Maria.

On the call

Maria: Yo, Bitch! Don't tell me you're still sleeping.

Shivani: I was. But now. Tell me what is it?

Maria: You forgot what day it is?

Shivani: My sister's graduation day.

Maria: Not that, pabo. Today's valentine's day.

Shivani: So? I won't be getting any rose anyways.

Maria: What if you get one today? Think about it.

Shivani: Even if I get one. I'll reject it.

Maria: Why would you? Don't tell me you're.....

Shivani: Shut your mouth. It's not like that. I don't like being in a relationship. I'm going to shower. We'll talk later. Bye.

Maria: Bye, Shivi.

Ends the call

SHIVANI POV

Returning the phone to its place, I turned around to attend to my needs, but instead, I bumped into a large barrier.

The barrier turned out to be Lee Min Ho, Sarah's not-so-good best friend. Better known as Lee Know, because people claimed he knew everything.

"Watch your steps, pixie pocket," he teased, his voice dripping with amusement, making me even angrier.

"I'M NOT SHORT!" I yelled at him, my face burning.
