Forgive But Don't Forget

My heart stopped when I heard the name,a name that I thought I would never hear again,one I didn't want to hear again. Hyunjin studies my face for a moment before tilting his head in confusion "Are you okay? Do you feel sick?" Hyunjin asks me before lightly rubbing my arm

"Was he an older male,Sungjin Uni uniform and brown curls?" my hands begin to shake as I think about the painful memory again.

"H-how did you know" Hyunjin looks at me in horror before I hear a loud thud behind me. I quickly look behind me to see Seungmin standing there.

"Seungmin,it's not what it sounds like,please just listen to me. I know you won't believe me but it's not me" I quickly go over to Seungmin as tears roll down his cheeks.

"Y-you killed Chan....Why?" He whispers to me before I quickly rub his arm to comfort him. Reminding him of his lover's death must be the hardest thing for him right now. I look at the pale male in front of me as it seems all the color has drained from his face.

"I didn't kill Chan,Jinyoung did. I don't know what Chan has to do with Jinyoung but he did it. I wasn't there to witness the murder but I can't get the sight of the body out of my mind...the amount of blood on the floor..on his face"

Hyunjin kneels down next to Seungmin as he pulls him in for a hug making Seungmin break into a sob gripping Hyunjin's arm tighter. Hyunjin holds him closer. "Tell me all that happened,I want to have peace.."

"Are you sure?" I don't want to upset him even more but at the same time maybe this is what it takes to know the truth and clear my name. I can still remember the cries and screams of agony and horror from Seungmin's lips. The way he sobbed when Hyunjin was there,it rings through my head every time I think about it as if it was yesterday.

Seungmin nods as his brown eyes are shining with tears. Jeongin comes out from the room stumbling a bit but he still kneels down on the other side of Seungmin rubbing his leg as I rubbed his arm. Trauma can bring everyone together sometimes even if someone is haunted by it,surrounded by it even,today is one of those days. I begin to tell them the events of that night

I drove up to the strange apartment,why is Jinyoung all the way on the other side of Seoul? Is he badly hurt or did he get into trouble with the law around here? There's no cops around unless they're undercover. "Jinyoung?" I holler for him before he quickly walks out of the apartment with blood splattered on his face

"Shut up Yongbok,just hush" He looks panicked for a moment before he takes my hand pulling me in the apartment where my eyes laid upon a body,the brown curls are almost drenched in blood as his head has been cracked open,his throat was gaping open across the throat as I now see the spray of blood across the once white wallpaper.

His hands are limp and crushed against his sides and multiple stab wounds across the abdomen and the heart. I feel the blood drain out of me quickly and the bile rises up in my throat as I look further at the body.

"W-what have you done?" I managed to choke out as my body shakes in horror and shock. What made him do that? Why did he have to resort to killing? There's so many questions but some of them I don't want to know the answer to.

I run outside as I see Jinyoung pick up the head as a part of his brain falls to the side of his skull. I lean over the edge of the railing as I grip the railing so tight my knuckles turn white. The image of the brutal beating that went on repeats over and over in my head.

I feel the bile rise up in my throat before I begin to vomit on the grass. After what seems like eternity I finally stop vomiting as I look to the side when I walk in the door to avoid seeing the body but I can still smell the heavy copper smell of the blood.

"I need you to help hide the body before the cops come" Jinyoung says frantically but tears prick in my eyes as I run my fingers through my black hair. I didn't start dying it until after that incident and right after that I ended up leaving home and becoming an actor.

"There is no way,what even possessed you to do this sort of thing? No, I won't be a partner in crime with you." Tears start streaming down my face "I can't do this,I won't do this. I'm sorry but you're-" I shut up quickly as Jinyoung rushes out the window climbing down the escape hatch as I hear the sound of keys rattling.

I quickly hide in the closet when I heard the sound of a blood curdling scream from a young male before I hear a thud on the ground "no no no please,Channie,wake up baby,come on" I hear the male start to sob as I hear more screams that were mixed with sobs before I hear the male gagging before running outside.

So this must have been his lover's apartment? It hurts my heart every time the male screams and I hope one day that someone or something is able to heal that trauma but I don't know that it will. I quickly escape down the stairs once I hear him leave as I put my hood up acting as if I was a next door neighbor as I got my house keys out to make it seem as if I was leaving.

I never thought the day would come when I would have to tell someone what happened,bu I'm glad I did if that's what it takes for Seungmin to trust me or most importantly get peace for the broken pieces that are missing.

Seungmin looks at me as his eyes are now bloodshot from crying and his sobs have slowly softened as he's now clenching onto Jeongin as he pets his head. Seungmin then sighs before saying "I'm sorry for the way that I've been treating you,it's just sometimes it's hard to get past a grudge and when I know that your family has the history it does,it's just hard,please forgive me"

I bring him into a hug as he holds me close to his chest burying his face into my shoulder "It's okay Seungmin because even though you may have had some grudges on me but what matters is we have each other's backs."

The eerie laugh comes on again "The past might come to haunt you again...so beware of the past''
