Earning Your Love 📖

Jake was simply walking around the castle as to make sure everything was how it should be just as it is every day. It's a repetitive job but an important one. Especially when he noticed a window broken and shattered glass leading towards the eldest princes room.

"Oh when I get my hands on you my precious prince, you shouldn't marry that ugly boy..." Jake heard a grumbling of a women's voice.

She was also walking quietly but obviously doesn't have the training that Jake does, so he was much quieter. He could already infer she was talking about the eldest prince who was to be married to another man less than a month from now. He knew he couldn't let her do that, whether he was getting married or not because she sounds like she has horrible intentions of what to do to the prince.

Jake peeked his head around the corner and saw the rat of a woman sneaking her way down the hallway. She was an idiot because she was never checking behind herself. Jake became more and more worried because she was getting closer to his room and she knew too because her pace increased.

He quickly made his way over but she already had grabbed the door handle. She flung it open only because Jake had harshly grabbed her. He was on his back and her back was on him as he had a chokehold around her. It was nothing enough to choke her out but she definitely could feel it.

"Knight?!" The worried prince came rushing out and gawked at the scene of the knight wrestling the crazy woman.

"Quickly! Get the closest knight you can find!" He ordered the prince with a point towards a direction that he knew a knight would be.

While his guard was down, the manic woman readjusted the knife in her hand and slammed it down into Jake's thigh. He didn't even know she had one. He had groaned in pain but didn't scream as to not scare the prince away from the command. He cursed a bit and held her tighter. He couldn't do anything about the knife because he was holding the arm that stabbed it in him but she had already let go. It was better that the wound was occupied and not bleeding out but who knows if it'll get infected.

After what felt like hours of holding her there and the knife feeling like it was going deeper and deeper into him, he finally saw Niki come running around the corner. His brain relaxed but his muscles didn't.

"The fuck?!" He grabbed the woman up and slammed her against the wall to put her in cuffs. Jake finally took the time to cry about the deep wound in his leg.

"Grab medics!" Niki yelled down the hallway and not even a few minutes later, Sunoo and prince Jay were running down the hallway together.

Sunoo quickly got to work. Jake knew better than to react like crazy while Sunoo pulled out the knife slowly. He had analyzed what angle it was put it as to make it as smooth as possible when removing it. Jake tried to not cry but he couldn't help it. He'd never felt this much pain in his life and he broke a leg when he was a kid.

"Oh my goodness Jake." Sunoo took a look at how deep the wound was. It was repairable but barely. Any deeper and it may have been a loss cause. For now he stopped blood from going to the leg while he treated it. When he wrapped a bandage around his thigh then he let the blood come down.

"Thank you so much." Jay hugged Jake. He'd heard of rumors of psycho women wanting to come kill him because if they can't have him then no one can. He'd been paranoid for days and when he let down his guard, Jake protected him. He protected him before himself.

"It's my job, ya know?" Jake laughed and felt the adrenaline rush coming down.

By now another guard had already came and helped Niki get rid of the woman. She'd be under the kingdoms dungeon watch until her court case. They had also moved Jake to the doctor's office inside the castle. He was placed on a bed but he wasn't lying down or anything. Even though Sunoo said he should.
