Sunghoon finished the last of the dishes. That was the last thing on his list for now until later in the day. He washed and dried their bedsheets, the guest rooms sheets, and their laundry. He would much rather do laundry than do the dishes. Maybe he doesn't like it because he has to stand in the same spot and wash the same dishes one after another.
Though it's like the gods heard him and rewarded him for doing them. As he finished drying and putting away the last plate, he heard the rattle of keys at the front door. He immediately smiled and headed to the living room. He had just got there and saw the doorknob turn before the door opened.
"Hoonie I'm home!" Jake yelled out as he took off his shoes and hung up his work bag. Luckily he had nothing today to finish up after work.
Sunghoon felt himself about to giggle so he hurried up and grabbed Jake's shoulders.
"JESUS!?" Jake yelped and shook as he turned around. Once he saw his husband, he began to calm down.
"How the hell did you manage that?" Jake said as he released a sigh of relief.
"I jumped behind the door you opened, if you opened the other one then you would've saw me. I took a chance." Sunghoon giggled as he embraced his husband in hopes of making him forgive him.
"This was not mentioned in our premarital counseling." Jake shook his head with a smile that clearly showed that he could never hate Sunghoons playful attitude.
"Yeah because you already know me and know I like being playful with you." Sunghoon followed the boy upstairs to their bedroom.
"I sealed my own fate here, is that what you're saying?" Jake asked as he grabbed different pants and a shirt. Specifically a pair of sweatpants and a grunge shirt.
"Mhm!" Sunghoon nodded while Jake comfortably removed his pants and replaced them with the sweatpants. But as soon as it came to his shirt and tie, suddenly his hands don't work and he's pleading for Sunghoon to help.
"You know I'm your husband now? If you want me to undress you then just ask, no need for theses performances anymore." Sunghoon smiled teasingly at him as he undid his tie, leaning close to Jake who smirked.
"You've never fallen for it?" Jake asked, genuinely a bit curious.
"I used to. Then we were five months in and I knew how much of a trickster you are." Sunghoon raised his eyebrows just thinking back on the day that he realized Jake was just making excuses. He finished unbuttoning his white shirt and gave him a pat on his chest, "But I seemed to have fallen for that part of you too." He laughed as he took his shirt and pants to their dirty laundry bin that was empty.
"I think you've fallen for every part of me." Jake said smugly as he pulled the shirt over his head and through his arms.
"I must've." Sunghoon quietly giggled to himself before leaving the bedroom. He already knew what Jake wanted for dinner as they had talked about it while Jake was on his lunch break.
As Sunghoon was stirring something in a pot already, two arms slithered around his waist and a chin rested on his shoulder. It was Jake. Sunghoon would know him from anywhere and from the fact that he's the only other person in this house with him. It's pretty normal for Jake to do this so Sunghoon didn't flinch. Though he was curious when he felt soft laughter from Jake.
"What has you laughing?" Sunghoon asked with a smile on his face. Enjoying the soft laughter vibrations on his back.
"Just thinking of when I, ignorantly, told your friends when I first met them that I had a great job and wanted to make you my stay at home husband." Jake planted a soft kiss on Sunghoons neck.

"So uhm, Jake, was it?" Jungwon, one of Sunghoons friends asked him and so he nodded, "What about the future? If you're really in love with our best friend like you say, then you have to have thought of a future with him."
Jake certainly didn't expect to be asked such a serious question but he did have an answer so he didn't sweat it, at least he didn't think he should.
"I'm still in college for everything physics but I've already gotten a job for ***** company. They claimed that they didn't want to pass up the chance to take me for themselves. Other companies also reached out but I felt that ***** had appreciated my talent before it was obvious to. Not to mention the pay, I could have Sunghoon as my stay at home husband with no problem. If he agrees to marry me in the future of course." Jake nervously laughed and scratched his nape, only now realizing how bold of a statement he had made.
"Oh! That sounds... great." They all awkwardly answered as they didn't expect it either.
"I'm not saying he has to! He can work his own job if he would like. I'm just saying that I'm flexible to whatever he wants!" Jake waved his hands to defend himself.
Sunghoons friends only laughed. With how nervous he got and sensitive to how Sunghoon feels, they knew he was not a problem.
—
"I was told about that. They told me you were weird but they supported us." Sunghoon laughed just thinking of their starstruck faces as Sunghoon wondered what he had to have said to make them this confused.
"I don't blame them. I was way too nervous." Jake shook his head. He had less confidence back then but Sunghoon really helped him with that. Sunghoon always jokes he may have helped him too much.
After they ate dinner and talked about Jake's work day. They sat in the living room and watched whatever was on one of the TV channels. They've never really minded what was on the TV as long as they were together. They could easily keep each other entertained if the TV was boring.
As they were cuddled up on the couch, Jake sitting normally as Sunghoons head leaned on Jake's chest and legs laid over Jake's thighs, Jake took Sunghoons hand into his with those loving eyes of his.
"You know, I'm loving this 'married life' with you." He kissed the back of Sunghoons hand who smiled, "but there's one thing I think we're forgetting about."
Sunghoon titled his head with confusion. A bit worried for a moment that Jake thought there was something wrong with their relationship. But he could tell he wasn't because he had the derpiest smile. The same one he has while talking about physics topics he really likes.
"Well, when are going to start trying for kids?" Jake looked up at Sunghoon, finally looking away from his hand.
"Whe- eh- wha-" Sunghoon was entirely flustered.
"Of course, I'm not pressuring you or anything. I'm entirely sure we can support children financially. But when it comes to mentally and physically, I can't decide that on my own because it's us together." Jake's eyes sparkled in a new way. Family has always been a big thing for Jake and Sunghoon is sure it means a LOT for Jake to ask him to make their own little family with him.
"I'm glad you finally asked." Sunghoon laughed and kissed a stunned Jake's nose.
"What do you mean?" Jake played with Sunghoons hand more.
"I've been ready for kids with you for a month now. But I wanted you to come to me about it. I wanted to make sure you really knew you wanted kids." Sunghoon caressed Jake's face who again smiled like a dork.
"Can we start tonight? I don't have to go into work until 10 AM tomorrow." Jake grinned like a giddy kid on Halloween.
"Sure, we can start tonight." Sunghoon shook his head and laughed at the boy. But his laughter was cut off short by Jake swooping him up off the couch bridal style.
"Sun's already down. It's us time." Jake smiled at the boy who shook his head at his antics.
"I love you so much, Sim Jaeyun." Sunghoon looked at the man who stopped walking right before the stairs.
"I love you so much more, Sim Sunghoon." Jake kissed his cheek and continued up the stairs to their bedroom.
