I feel groggy as I wake in the morning, and feel a little nausea too. I don't know what it is, but I have a bad feeling in my stomach. I drag myself out of bed, eventually, and put my uniform on. God, I don't want to be a soldier today.
Once I leave my room, the air in barracks feels off. There's not many people around. Maybe I'm not the only one who overslept. I notice Elias from my squad and breathe a sigh of relief.
"Where the hell is everyone?" I ask him, and he shrugs.
"Your guess is as good as mine. There was an emergency meeting for scout captains and elites, I think."
"So why wasn't I told?"
"Probably because you were asleep, and everyone knows you're still brain damaged."
"Fuck you." I hiss at him. He looks apologetic, as if he was expecting me to be ready to joke around.
I push past him, and notice everyone leaving the conference room, all with disturbed looks on their faces.
"The fuck's going on?" I ask, and look around at everyone.
"Eren's gone missing." Hange finally answers, looking deep in thought.
"What?! He's got himself kidnapped, again? Are you joking?"
"Not quite. He's travelled to Marley."
"Huh, alone?" I question, cocking my head.
"Mm."
"Wha... he can't expect to take them out without our support."
"I don't know what the hell he's planning. I say we wait it out."
"Ask the crazy blonde bitch. I bet she knows something."
Levi walks out of the conference room and folds his arms.
"You're so deeply mistrusting of the volunteers."I glare at him.
"Are you joking? You trust that lunatic?""I think we don't have a lot of friends, and need to accept all the help we can gather."
"I'd rather have no allies. She's got some screws loose. I guarantee you'll regret this."
Hange clears her throat, and I sigh.
Probably behind me. I turn, and sure enough, Yelena stands behind me, glaring.
Do I apologise?
"This conversation isn't for you." I firmly state.
Her glare fades, but her stance doesn't soften.
"I'm so sorry you don't want to see your people succeed. Listen to Levi, he's wise. You don't have many friends.""I bet you don't either. You're fucking crazy." I hiss back at her, and she looks shocked for a moment.
"I'm crazy? Right. Oh! I know you. I've heard of you. Captain Meyer. Impressive skill, yet constantly attacks anyone who remotely disagrees with her."
"Yeah, and you're about to find that out first hand." I respond, as I take a step closer to her.
She reaches slowly for her gun, and I reach for mine.
"Yelena. Move one more muscle and it'll be the last one you ever move." Levi suddenly interjects, and I hear him draw his swords.
Yelena freezes. She looks at me, and back at Levi. She darts a few glances between us for a moment, before smiling gently.
"Oh, how cute! I think it's just lovely, that you can find love even with the world in such peril." She exclaims with what can only be described as glee.
