"Why do they scream when they take off?" Artemis asked, eyeing the two goats pulling the Viking boat that Odin had given them for this trip. "And why couldn't Heimdall just open the Bifrost for us?""Because the Collector prefers that we approach him 'normally'." Loki answered. "What ever that means."
Artemis nodded. It made sense. She wasn't sure she wanted people to randomly show up in the middle of Olympus like that either. "And the screaming?"
Loki shrugged. "Who knows?"
"Uuuuuuuuuuhhhhhh..."
"Hephaestus."
"Uuuuuuuuuuhhhhhh..."
"Hephaestus."
"..."
"Tell me this isn't a problem."
"Uuuuuuuuuuhhhhhh..."
"Hephaestus!"
"No! I mean yes! I mean—"
"We can't have a crisis—my schedule is already full."
"Percy?"
I closed my eyes, but didn't turn from the massive space ship right in front of our front window. "Hepheastus."
"We, uh...have a crisis." The smith said sheepishly. "I didn't fit the space ship with weapons."
"Dude!"
"How is that not something you did when you made a space ship?" Apollo demanded. He was clutching the arm rests for his seat. Turns out he was not okay with space travel.
"Really, that should have been your first thought." Aphrodite agreed.
"I was more focused on the speed and maneuverability." Hephaestus admitted quietly.
The ship Hephaestus had rigged up was just a part of the giant helicarrier he'd made already. It broke off from the helicarrier and was easier to move around with just a three person crew. But apparently it cost us the use of any weapons whatsoever.
Rubbing my eyes, I sighed in exasperation. Reaching deep inside myself, I searched for the power I knew I had somewhere. Sometime in the last few months, I learned that since I was a god of warriors, I was able to tap into any and all powers of those that fall under that domain. I'm looking for my connection to Carol Danvers. Her ability to fly out in space with no ship is exactly what will help us here. Hopefully quickly. We're running a little behind.
Having grabbed that power, I reached for another one that came from a young girl in Professor Xavier's school.
"Last chance, lower your shields and prepare to be boarded."
"I'll be right back." I sighed, getting up from my seat. "Hopefully I can take care of these pirates before they destroy our ship." I said as I began to glow. "Begin evasive maneuvers."
"Oh, no." Apollo sank in his seat and gripped his arm rests even tighter.
"Aye aye, cap'n." Hephaestus took hold of the controls and turned sharply.
"Be safe, Percy!" Aphrodite called just as I phased through the window.
"You give us no—holy sh—!" The speaker squeaked then shut off.
The ship raised their shields and aimed their weapons at me.
I grinned. Hephaestus was now out of range, waiting for me to come back. I floated in front of the pirates space ship with my arms crossed.
