Previously:
Throwing my shield at the guy, I felt a small twinge of relief as if flew towards him. Wouldn't want to be on the bad side of a love goddess. Not when I'm trying to get a date. However, he turned and caught my shield just as it reached him.

And spun it back to me.

It seems I spoke too soon.

I skid back as I caught it, looking at my shield in surprise. But it was just enough to distract me. Just enough so he could get away. By the time I looked up, he was gone.

Then I had a thought.

Natasha.

She's going to hate me for this.

I watched as Captain America escaped from SHIELD base, only barely making it through the gates. I flinched when I heard a voice call my mortal name. Putting on the best smile I could manage, I turned to Pierce expectantly. Seeing his hand retract quickly, I hid a shudder. If I weren't a goddess with more power over men than this HYDRA agent can imagine, I would have been terrified of him.

"Agent Dove, is there any way for you to know where Agent Kelp is at this time?" The Secretary asked. "To find out what mission Nick Fury sent him on?"

I smiled, though I'm sure it was more of a grimace. "Of course," I then walked out of the room.

Pierce followed, staying silent expectantly. "Well?" He asked finally. "Where is he?"

"I was unaware I needed to tell you," I answered, not looking his way.

"That was the point of my asking," Pierce said in a tone that suggested I should have known that.

Subtly, I sped up my walking, leaving him panting from trying to keep up. I knew exactly where I could go to be alone until Steve Rogers returned for the flash drive in the vending machine. "Classified," I said eventually.

"Could you notify Agent Kelp of the circumstances?"

I entered Percy's office, keeping the door opening only big enough for my head to be seen. Smiling, I turned to Alexander Pierce one last time. "I don't need to," I answered truthfully before shutting the door firmly.

Turning around, I sighed in the anticipation of the next few hours. It's going to be boring here without Percy. Shrugging, I conjured a large bucket of movie popcorn and sat in front of the screen with the security footage. Watching the one with the vending machine, I settle down for a very long few hours.

I was just ready to fall asleep when I saw a figure stop in front of the vending machine. I leaned forward, watching as the hooded figure froze when he didn't see anything in the spot he put it in. Smiling, I wiped the popcorn from my shirt and put the bowl on the desk. Natasha had come by several hours ago and bought all the bubble gum as well as the flash drive Percy gave to Steve. There she was now, standing behind him with a hoodie and chewing gum.

Then they disappeared into the conveniently empty room next door.

"Time to go," I whispered, smiling in relief. I would leave them to their own devices until Steve thought to go to his new friend's house. Sam Wilson.
