No one truly knew when Marilyn Locke was born. Not really. Though, they do know it was at some point during 1980. For in 1981, she was a silent baby in an orphanage, and given to the Halliwell family.

Where to start with the Locke family? Well, the eldest was Adrien. He was the father of the four children, whether Marilyn was blood or not. He worked at the docks in Dublin city, Ireland, in 1992, though he had worked in a great many places by then. His family had actually lived in three countries in Marylin's lifetime. Technically speaking, their youngest daughter was Spanish.

Next: Cheryl. Or Cherry, as she liked to be called. Cherry was known to drink a bit too much, no matter the age of her children. Sometimes, they'd try to pin down when it started, but couldn't remember a time without it. There were so many memories best left forgotten, that Marilyn had developed a bit of a memory problem.

Their eldest child was Hamish. He wasn't at the house often, but when he was, the other children were often frightened. He was older, around 16, and often broke things in his anger, hurting the others. Bur Cherry was okay with that. He was a boy. that is how boys were. Marilyn stopped crying about it when she was young.

Twins next - Brenda and Leigh-Anne. This pair were almost completely dethatched from the others - 15 years of age, and so addicted to the house phone and gossiping that they had to get a second, disconnected landline. They viewed themselves as high above everyone else, and often bullied Marilyn, though she couldn't care to defend herself.

Youngest was Sandy. At 11 years old, she was much too smart for her age. She spent most of her time in her bedroom, painting her walls as she could never settle on a color, and would show her one-man-plays to Marilyn, who always made time for the child.

Which brings us to Marilyn. She was older than Sandy, younger than everyone else. But with her Father working and mother usually asleep, she had been running from house from five years old. She dropped out of school, and pretended she was home-schooling herself. She made breakfasts, she packed lunches, she walked Sandy to school, she kept the house clean and washed laundry. She'd spend her days outside, in rain or sun, usually, gardening, or in winter she baby-sat her neighbours animals, as well as animals from a few blocks over. And every night she'd make everyone dinner, and tuck her little sister into bed.

She felt it was a lot responsibility. Sometimes, it was all thrown upside down if her brother decided he was having a bad day. He'd smash windows, or try to jump off the bridge nearby. There was nothing wrong with him. He was just too used to getting whatever he wanted. He wanted cake a week or so ago, and ordered so much, along with take out, all for himself, that her parents couldn't properly afford the things needed for her school.

School. Something Marilyn had left behind long ago. She never wondered what would happen her when she was older, just that she needed to work hard to get her sister to somewhere good, so that then she can have a good life. Marilyn's life was never one she thought about much.

Which is why she was very, very confused as to what the hell she was doing in the middle of a magically hidden street in London, the day before the start of term, getting her supplies for her first year at a wizarding boarding school.

Yes. Wizarding. While Marilyn was 'Muggle-born', and needed everything explained to her by a member of the school staff, you lot know what that means, which means you don't need to be bored with all those details. She had been told three months ago, at her 12th birthday. She took a lot of convincing, but finally, after being told her puppy could go with her having 'specific circumstances' (they didn't explain what that meant) She decided to try. But she was regretting it. Her brother was probably throwing a TV at someone right now. It was stupid of her to be here.
