Jungkook sat across from Eunwoo in the dimly lit café, his jaw set and eyes narrowed. He wasn’t in the mood for niceties. This wasn’t a casual meeting—it was a confrontation. He clenched his fists as he leaned forward, eyes dark.
“I’ll make this simple, Eunwoo,” Jungkook started, voice low and cutting. “Stay away from Y/N. Go back to where you came from and leave her alone.”
Eunwoo smirked, a flicker of amusement in his eyes as he stirred his coffee leisurely. He let out a quiet chuckle, one that sent Jungkook’s blood boiling. “So now you’re playing the protective husband?” he replied, voice laced with mockery. “Isn’t that a bit ironic, coming from you?”
Jungkook’s fists tightened. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Oh, come on, Jungkook,” Eunwoo’s tone was casual, but the glint in his eyes was anything but. “You think you can play the possessive husband while having an affair with your secretary? How is it, Jungkook? How does it feel betraying the woman who loves you so much? Does it make you feel powerful?”
Jungkook froze, caught off guard. His mind raced. He was certain that it was Y/N who had told Eunwoo about his affair with Hyemi. But as he stared at the confidence in Eunwoo’s gaze, a wave of uncertainty washed over him.
He cleared his throat, his voice faltering slightly. “Y/N… She told you, didn’t she?”
Eunwoo’s smirk grew wider. “Nope. Y/N didn’t say a thing. I knew about it myself.” He leaned back, crossing his arms. “You’re not as clever as you think you are, Jungkook. I’ve seen the way you’ve treated her. I know all about the pathetic double life you’ve been living.”
Jungkook’s confidence faltered, but he tried to recover, forcing a laugh. “You don’t know a thing about my marriage. And besides, Y/N loves me. She’d never leave me for you.”
Eunwoo’s laughter cut through the tension, loud and mocking, causing a few heads to turn in their direction. He leaned forward, eyes sharp with a hint of anger beneath his calm demeanor. “Are you really that delusional, Jungkook? Do you honestly think love excuses everything you’ve done to her?”
“Excuse me?” Jungkook’s voice rose, defensive. “You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Don’t I?” Eunwoo sneered, shaking his head in disbelief. “You weren't there for her when she needed you. Every single doctor’s appointment, every time she felt alone, every moment she hoped you’d care… You were too busy running off with Hyemi. I was the one who stood by her when you couldn’t be bothered.”
Jungkook’s face flushed with anger. “You had no right—”
Eunwoo cut him off, voice rising, full of contempt. “No right? Do you even realize what you’ve done? Do you have any idea how much damage you’ve caused?” He paused, looking Jungkook straight in the eye, letting his words sink in. “While you were off with your secretary, I was there for her. I watched her struggle, and you didn’t even notice. You have no right to act possessive when you’re the one who abandoned her.”
Jungkook felt a stab of guilt but masked it with anger. “She’s my wife, Eunwoo. Not yours. Whatever you think happened between you two, it doesn’t matter. She chose me.”
“Chose you?” Eunwoo laughed bitterly. “She chose you because she trusted you. And look how you repaid her—by humiliating her, by betraying her, by taking her love for granted. You don’t deserve her.”
Jungkook’s jaw clenched. “Stop acting like some self-righteous hero, Eunwoo. You think you can swoop in and take her from me just because you were around? You’re nothing to her.”
