SACRIFICE GAME.
the game continued as the four of us studied the game
"Wait a minute." harry paused as i did the same thing
"bloody hell" i sighed
"You guys understand, right? Once I make my move, the Queen will take me. Then you're free to check the King." ron said
"No. Ron, no!" shouted harry
"What is it?" hermione said confused by everything but a hint of her voice sounded worried
"He's going to sacrifice himself." harry said
"No, you can't" ron closed his eyes
"There must be another way!" ron sighed
"Do you want to stop Snape from getting that Stone or not? Harry, y/n, it's you two that has to go on. I know it. Not me. Not Hermione. You twin!" me and harry looked at eachother and sighed at the same time but we just gave a nod to ron
(a/n: i had to change the iconic line for a context, huhuhu)
Ron takes a deep breath and grips the reins
"Knight to H3." ron sighed the other horse aside from mine moves forward, slides to the left and stops; Ron turns towards the King, who is just a few feet away
"check." i said while looking intensely at what will happen ron nervously turns towards the Queen; Hermione also turns her attention to the Queen and opens her mouth nervously as the Queen, just a few inches from Harry who watches tensely, turns and approaches Ron; Ron breathes faster, clutching onto the steel reins as the Queen moves closer and closer to him, then stops; she then raises her sword and stabs the horse with it; Ron screams as he falls off the horse and lands on the floor unconsciously; the horse then falls to the floor
"RON!" the three of us shouted. we all tried to move but ron shouted
"No, don't move! Don't forget, we're still playing." we all stopped
Harry walks diagonally as Hermione gazes at Ron as he lays unconscious on the floor and stops in front of the King
"checkmate" said harry
The King's sword falls onto the ground in defeat. Harry breathes out and me and Hermione run to Ron. me and hermione bend beside him while harry was just standing up while sighing.
"Take care of Ron. Then go to the owlery. Send a message to Dumbledore. Ron's right. we have to go on." said harry while putting his hand on my shoulders, i look at him as he smiled assuring me with it
"you'll be okay, Harry. You're a great wizard. You really are." i gasped dramatically
"what about me? betrayer" i joked while hermione laughed lowly and so did harry
"dont worry, youre better than your brother" hermione joked, this time harry was the one who gasped
"now you two go on, take care. pls come back to us in one piece" hermione said while i stood up beside harry looking at him then hermione, smiling.
"thats a promise" me and harry assured at the same time.
