「 Maevie 」
In my very professional opinion, threatening someone when you're in high school is an extremely childish thing to do.
But alas, here we are standing in the school parking lot where we found out textbooks and supplies sprawled out this morning.
In my very professional opinion, acting on said threats is even more childish and not to mention probably illegal. After spending half an hour collecting our things from the carpark with Avelly and Mr Forte Anni and I were sent to class only to find out the assignment we handed in yesterday wasn't done well enough and that we had to have lunch time detention to make up for it.
The kicker though, and probably the most illegal thing out of all of the acts committed, was the stalking.
Like the previous night we were each followed home and then followed to the 50's themed diner we work at. Lissa was again concerned for our wellbeing as now two of us were acting minorly insane. It was like having a creepy personal escort everywhere, but instead of having your safety guaranteed it's your personal nightmare.
Tonight I was lucky I had a single shift and didn't have to work until ten like usual, and the creeps had left me alone too. So I was home at seven a sigh leaving me as I step through my front door waving bye to Anni who dropped me off.
"Mae Mae!" Ava's little voice giggles from the hallway as she sprints towards me practically tackling me onto the floor. "You've gotta come say hi to them!" she exclaims. "He's super nice, he gave me an' Scar chocolates!" my guard shoots up at that. Who the fuck is giving my six- and seven-year-old sisters chocolate when I'm not home?
"Henry?" I call out. His response comes from the kitchen.
"In here, just having a chat with these two gentlemen who claim to know you."
I swear to god—
Oh my. Boundaries were seriously crossed here; I step into the kitchen and my gaze narrows on Hayes and Noah sitting at my table smiling at Scarlett who is telling them about her poster she made for school. Their heads are bent at an angle as they listen to her chatter excitedly about her creation.
Scarlett notices me first, drops her poster and practically crash tackles me onto the floor. "Mae! You're back!" she giggles before glancing briefly over her shoulder and lowering her voice. "They're pretty, you should marry one of them and be a really famous princess."
I choke and cover it up with a laugh, "I think I'm too young to be thinking about that sort of stuff, and so are you missy moo." Scarlett huffs and quickly gets off me, "I'm gonna go find Ava, she'll agree with me." She turns around and barrels out of the kitchen and yells. "AVA COME HELP ME TELL MAE SHE NEEDS TO MARRY THE PRETTY BOYS IN THE KITCHEN AND BE A PRINCESS."
"What?"
"COME HELP ME—"
"Scarlett, I will personally murder you if you don't stop yelling," Henry hisses as he walks into the kitchen his hair ruffled as if he'd been asleep. He looks at me, "don't you have that child under control?"
