Do you ever get that feeling where you just want everything to stop?

Like you want everything to freeze so you can get yourself out of this situation and out to a nice place away from everything where is peaceful and nothing is disturbing you? That would be great right about now.

Evil incarnate and his chaotic spawn stand there with smirks adorning their faces. It would be soo satisfying to slap the looks off, but instead I sigh and spin back around to face my canvas. "Come back later, I want to get this finished, I have an idea and I'm not going to stop until I'm happy with it."

"I think we should talk now," Wes's voice sounds almost friendly.
"And I think you should go shove your thoughts up your hairy little—"

"Annika," I huff not looking over my shoulder. "Could you refrain from insulting anyone for at least twenty minutes? I cannot keep pulling you out of fights."

"Yeah, listen to what Mae said. I think she's got quite the idea there."

"The idea that you have thoughts is the most surprising," Anni mutters and sits back down picking up her notebook.

"Perhaps Wes wasn't clear," the asshole's voice breaks the quiet. "We're having a talk now." A hand grips my arm and I whip around so fast and rip Hayes' hand off me he actually has a startled look on his face. "Don't touch me asshole. Not unless I explicitly tell you that you can. Don't you ever lay a finger on me," I say my words deadly a contrast to the calm on my face. "Now either hurry up and talk or I'm going back to my painting." I raise my sketchbook in a threat.

Both hesitate for a second as if they're wondering if I'm being serious. Clearly they're being weird this morning, so I pick up my book and open it, flipping to the page I was on.

"Uh right, yeah no we'll talk," Wes says. Real smooth buddy.

The whole mood has shifted and now its awkward – for them, I'm having a blast watching the 'kings' of the school squirm and try to think of something to say.

"Forget it," Wes mutters and sits down on the floor dramatically. "Just go back to your drawing so Kaden can think of something menacing and threatening to say and then we can leave."

I roll my eyes and look down at the unfinished sketch sitting in my lap and Anni all but snorts at Wes not bothering to look up from her own work.

"This is the last time I will warn you Knight and Dayton. Either you bend the knee and admit what you did. Or I will break you both. It's your choice you have until the end of the day to make your decision." He looks at Anni then at me slowly. "Or I'll make it for you."

Ok so should I have listened to the creepy and extremely uncalled for warning at the beginning of the day? No. I'm not his fucking dog I don't owe him anything – except maybe a new car... but shh. In hindsight, before I went home and went straight to work, should I probably have answered the dumb choice? Yes. Because I tell you what, being followed home by four guys on motorbikes and in sports cars isn't exactly my cup of tea. Nor is being followed to work. I think I looked out into the parking lot about a hundred times last night Lissa, my manager was asking what was wrong with me for half of the night. I was so paranoid I barely got a wink of sleep.

Well and the fact that I was on the receiving end of a bashing and was in too much pain to sleep. Ava and Scarlett camped in my room again and Henry, eventually feeling left out decided to crash the party in the middle of the night with absolutely no warning.

If you're wondering if I was in my nice warm comfy bed, the answer is no. The floor and I were well acquainted again last night.

"Sorry I'm a little late everyone," Miss Stone announces when she reaches the small circle we've formed on the ground this morning. We meet up for a 'check in' at least twice a week. So far it's only been on Mondays and Fridays, but today Miss Stone called an emergency one and told us to come to school earlier for what she called our quarter check point of the first month. Basically we're just telling her the progress – if there was any – on our projects, how we're settling into the school, if anything is bothering us, and if we're finding it easy enough to juggled everything.

A welfare check of sorts. Except all they do is gossip and throw shit at each other. That was Mr Forte's doing.

"Is everyone feeling well this morning? I didn't get to see you all yesterday, so I wanted to do a quick check in to see how everyone is doing," Miss Stone says sitting down and inserting herself into the circle.

"We're all doing great Miss," Mason answers for all of us. "Well you know except for Maevie and Annika. They're still on the shit list of everyone in school."

I internally groan at that and Anni literally flops forward moaning about how she wants a divorce from life.

"We're still working on that girls don't worry; the perpetrator will be caught in no time." There is no way in hell that's true, but I nod and smile anyway.

"Bella how are you doing sweetheart?" Miss Stone asks the unusually sombre blonde. "You're quite quiet this morning, is everything alright?"

I can tell the second a fake smile is put in place and the act moves in place. "I'm alright miss, nothing to worry about, it's just Rachel and I are having a bit of a tiff over something not important. It'll be sorted out by lunch," she assures.

Rachel's a heartless bitch, even worse than Bella. This will not be sorted out by lunch at all.

The 'meeting' adjourns when the bell rings for class and we all rise promising to read the next email Miss Stone sends us, Mr Forte promising not to read it and earning a whack in return. All in all the usual.

Well, until I show up to class and the asshole and his henchmen are all suspiciously standing around the empty teach desk. Rider's – Rider? I think that's his name. – eyes follow me when I got to take my seat and a I realise they're waiting for me to sit down. Not bothering to delay the inevitable I sit down in my usual spot and lean forward on my arms yelling at myself not to fall asleep. That is a horrible look.

The teacher enters the classroom and starts roll call and as I'm waiting for my name an almost chilling voice leans over and whispers next to me.

"You should've made a decision."
