THIRD PERSON POV

As the school day draws to an end, Clove Kentwell and Johanna Mason are sitting in the detention room. "I hate Cato Hadley," whined Clove. Annie Cresta, Finnick Odair, Peeta Mellark, and Marvel Sanford ran up to them. "I heard you got detention," said Marvel slyly, smirk on his face.

Clove nodded sadly. "Can you get detention too, pretty please?" she pouted, putting on her best sad face she could. She saw a flicker of hesitation on Marvel's face. "Please?" she begged, puppy eyes on. "Okay, Clove, but don't you dare use those puppy eyes on me again," said Marvel.

"Thank you!" Clove wrapped her arms around Marvel's neck, hugging him tightly. Nobody noticed the brief flash of red that crossed his cheeks. "Now go start a fight, Marvel," said Clove with a smile. "Will anybody help?" asked Marvel desperately. "The only other boys here are Cato Hadley and Gloss Sanders, and I don't want to talk to them," he whined. "Rather Gloss than Cato," said Johanna.

"At least Gloss is nice," said Peeta. "Cato doesn't do anything but start fights," said Finnick, playing with a few strands of Annie's hair. "How about Finnick go with you?" asked Annie, pushing Finnick gently away, then laughing at Finnick's expression. "I'd love to," said Finnick. "But I have to get ready for Cressida's back to school party," he said.

"Well, Marvel?" asked Clove, turning to Marvel. "Make your choice. Gloss or Cato?" Little did Clove know that she would be hearing this question, asked to herself by a girl she never thought she would like again. "You have no mercy," mumbled Marvel. Clove, Johanna, Annie, Finnick, and Peeta watched as Marvel walked up to Gloss, and punched him in the face.

Gloss reacted immediately. He pulled at Marvel's arm, then hit him back. "I guess being the quarterback of the football team really paid off," said Peeta. "Ow," said Finnick as he watched Gloss and Marvel rolling on the floor, each trying to get in one more hit. "Is it just me, or is there some emotion in that?" asked Peeta. Johanna smirked. "Of course, who would they be fighting for?" she wondered out loud.

"Oh, why won't anybody come?" asked Annie worriedly. "I'm worried Marvel won't be okay," she said. A crowd had already gathered near the two wrestling boys. "Should I stop them?" sighed Clove. "It was just starting to get fun," she muttered as she walked up to them, and tapped the back of a blond boy's head. It was hard to tell who was who, since the boys were both blond.

Clove expected the face staring back at her to be Marvel's, since the hair was a bit curly. Instead, she found Gloss's face looking at her. "Hey Kentwell," he said. Gloss saw Clove's expression. "Nice outfit, Kentwell. Who died?" he asked. "Why so serious?"

"Get off him!" said Clove exasperatedly. "He hit me first," protested Gloss as he got off Marvel. Then they heard footsteps clacking towards them. Marvel looked around for Clove, but she was nowhere to be seen. "Mr. Sanford, Mr. Sanders! What are you doing?" The high-pitched voice of Ms. Trinket greeted him.

"He hit me," said Gloss. Marvel saw Ms. Trinket begin to waver, so he quickly said, "He hit me more." He heard an unmistakable sigh from Johanna in the crowd. "Detention, both of you!" squeaked Ms. Trinket. "Off now, while I bring the janitor."

Clove saw a tired Marvel glaring at her, and she laughed. "Sorry Marvel," she mouthed. Marvel looked away. In the detention room, Clove and Johanna sat together, while Marvel sat as far away from them as possible. "Hey, ladies," said Gloss, taking a seat behind Clove.

Clove ignored him, and asked Marvel, "Are you mad, Marvel?" When Marvel didn't respond, Clove walked over to him, and sat by him. "I'm sorry," she said. Marvel finally lifted his head to look at her. He raised his fist and punched Clove. "That felt good. Now we're even," he laughed.
