The weeks rolled on, and Mingyu and Wonwoo’s relationship had settled into a quiet, fragile peace. Mingyu was still cautious, aware that one misstep could undo all the trust he had been rebuilding. He noticed the way Wonwoo’s gaze lingered on him a little longer, the softening in his voice when they spoke, and the faint smiles he no longer tried to hide.
One evening, as Mingyu helped Wonwoo with his evening routine, he caught Wonwoo staring at the small vase of flowers Mingyu had brought a few days before.
“They’re still holding up,” Wonwoo murmured, tracing a finger over a delicate petal.
Mingyu smiled softly, his voice barely above a whisper. “I’ll bring fresh ones tomorrow. Something that’ll last longer.”
Wonwoo met his gaze, his eyes warm yet cautious. “Thank you… for everything.”
Mingyu reached out, tucking a stray strand of hair behind Wonwoo’s ear. “It’s the least I can do, darling,” he said gently. His hand lingered near Wonwoo’s face, and for a brief moment, he saw something vulnerable in Wonwoo’s expression—a flicker of hesitation, of longing.
Encouraged, Mingyu leaned in and pressed a soft kiss on Wonwoo’s forehead. When he pulled back, he was met with the faint blush on Wonwoo’s cheeks. Wonwoo didn’t pull away, and that small act of acceptance filled Mingyu’s heart with hope.
“Would you… like to go somewhere this weekend?” Mingyu asked tentatively, unsure if he was overstepping. “Nothing big, maybe just a walk in the park. I think it’d be nice to get some fresh air.”
Wonwoo’s eyes softened, and a shy smile played on his lips. “I’d like that.”
Mingyu’s heart swelled, and for the first time in a long while, he felt like things were finally moving forward. “Then it’s a date,” he whispered, barely able to hide his excitement.

Elsewhere, Jun and Minghao were treading more carefully. Their relationship, once easygoing and carefree, had been strained since their fight. Though they’d mended things on the surface, the tension lingered, a shadow they couldn’t quite shake off. Minghao’s hesitance and Jun’s impatience were at odds, and it was a struggle to find common ground without reopening old wounds.
One evening, Minghao found himself alone, his thoughts drifting back to the fights, the misunderstandings, and the hurtful words exchanged. He couldn’t deny the love he felt for Jun, but something inside him held him back, a nagging fear of being hurt, of letting himself fall too far.
Jun, sensing the distance between them, tried not to push, though it went against every instinct he had. He wanted to fix things, to make everything right, but he also knew Minghao needed time. All he could do was hope that their love would be enough to bridge the gap between them.

The day of their outing arrived, and Mingyu took Wonwoo to a small, hidden garden on the outskirts of town. The air was crisp, and the sun cast a warm glow over the flowers, creating a serene backdrop. They walked in comfortable silence, Wonwoo’s hand resting in Mingyu’s as they strolled along the garden path.
At a secluded bench surrounded by cherry blossoms, they stopped. Mingyu sat down first, gently pulling Wonwoo beside him. He held Wonwoo’s hand, intertwining their fingers, savoring the warmth of his touch.
“This place is beautiful,” Wonwoo said quietly, his eyes tracing the soft pink blossoms swaying in the breeze.
“I wanted to bring you somewhere peaceful,” Mingyu replied, glancing at him. “You deserve peace, Wonwoo… after everything.”
Wonwoo’s gaze softened, and he leaned his head against Mingyu’s shoulder. They sat in silence, letting the calm of the garden wrap around them, neither needing words to express the comfort they found in each other’s presence.
Mingyu turned to Wonwoo, lifting his hand and pressing a gentle kiss to his knuckles. “Thank you… for giving me this chance.”
Wonwoo smiled, his voice a soft murmur. “You’ve given me more than enough reasons to.”
Mingyu’s heart felt light, a sense of peace settling within him, knowing that they were finding their way back to each other.

But lurking in the shadows was an unease they couldn’t yet see. Their fragile happiness seemed secure for now, but life had a way of throwing unexpected obstacles their way. They’d managed to rebuild what had once been broken, but fate had other plans. The future held more challenges, more trials, and their love would be tested in ways they couldn’t yet imagine.
As they left the garden hand-in-hand, a chill settled in the air, a silent foreboding that whispered to them that this peace might not last. For though they had chosen love, destiny had yet to reveal what lay ahead.
"Or maybe destiny is bringing something for them…?"
