NOONE'S(?) POV

"It's Audrey's last ever time at this school. The last day
Evening
Hour.

The last time.

And what does she do to celebrate that?
Go partying with friends and family?

Nah.

She's just not like that.

She choose to do one last run of the D.D.C.
The Don't Die Committee."

"Is that bad mama?"
"No dimwit!"

"Hey hey! Behave."

She pulled the door, satisfaction emitting from her.
I did really well in the math exam today! I might actually get into Willsted Teaching School now.

She walked but stopped at her sight.

There she saw a girl, who seemed familiar but not at the same time.

She stood leaning on the railing.
Her amber hair following every pattern the wind brings. Her silver eyes glowing in the sunset.

She's blind.

But was that the most shocking fact?

No

She wore a yellow cardigan.

Audrey coughed to get her attention.
She turned her head towards the sound.

"Audrey?" The girl asked, frowning a bit.
"Maria?"

"When did you go blind?" Audrey asked in worry as she comes up to the girl.

The girl backed closer to the edge.

"Careful! You're close to the edge-"
"I know Audrey."

Audrey was confused .

"Ever since going to California I've been blind. You'd think I'd have practice."

"Did I do something?" Audrey calmly asked.
Maria sighed. "No. nah. It's just... I'm tired."

She turned back towards the railing.

"Maria? Whatever you're -"

"Audrey, you and I both know that's not going to work."

She took another step and that's when Audrey remembered.

That ginger.

Anna

Belle

Is this playing the same?

The same story?

NO!

She won't, I WON'T-

"I CAN'T LET YOU DO THAT MARIA."

Audrey firmly stated. Pulling her back into the school.

Maria stood in the hallway as Audrey locked the door. Her head hung low.

Was she.. crying?

Audrey scoffed on accident.

"You know you've got some nerve disappearing from school, just to find out you ran away, then come back blind and with an ATTITUDE."

Audrey started.

"It's the last day. Maria.
The last FLIPPING day."

She turned around fully to face her.

"And you choose to take this nice, nice day, and turn it into a mess."

"I'm sorry Audrey. I just can't -"

"That's what I'm here for?! I mean, YOU DO THE SAME THING YOU SHOULD KNOW."

Audrey knew she was not to be angry with anyone right now but it seemed her body is releasing all the anger.

"I-" " No! You're gonna let me speak. I have had the most shocking year. From a bombing to kidnapping!"

"Kidnap?" "YES! Kidnap. And on the one day I expect to see no one, I find you."

Maria was Audrey's best friend before highschool, afterwards they fell apart and are now merely acquaintances.

"I- I'm sorry for ditching you Audrey."
"But I was dealing with alot."

"So talk to me." She sat on the ground, helping the blind girl sit beside her.

"That's what I'm here for."
