The group had finally arrived at the outdoor movie in Figure Eight. After stopping by Kie's house to get chairs, blankets and snacks. The screen was set up beside a body of water, giving the place a serene backdrop that contrasted sharply with the tension among the Pogues. They each carried their chairs and blankets, navigating through the scattered groups of people finding their spots for the night.

"I'm so glad we're doing this," Kie said, her face brightening up with a genie in smile as the group reached an open area. She was clearly enjoying a break from all the drama. "You know? Aren't you glad I asked y'all to come?" Kie continued, a hint of smugness in her voice.

"Ecstatic," Pope deadpanned, rolling his eyes.

JJ cleared his throat. "I'm not gonna lie, my couch was pretty comfy," he added with a lazy grin, stretching his arms out dramatically.

Mason shot JJ a teasing look. "Oh, come on, JJ. You need that fresh air. Maybe some of this Kook oxygen will help that brain of yours grow a bit," Mason said, giving JJ a playful nudge.

JJ smirked, shoving Mason back lightly. "Ha ha ha. Very funny. Hopefully it'll help me develop the ability to tolerate this place."

Kie gave the two an exasperated look before walking off to get snacks. "Children please behave while I'm gone" she called over her shoulder before turning away.

Mason laughed, shaking his head before dropping his chair onto the grass. The boys quickly making themselves at home. Pope, however, looked visibly tense, his eyes darting around the crowd of mostly Kooks.

"We're out of the green zone, guys" Pope muttered, his discomfort clear as day.

JJ waved his hand dismissively. "Dude, tranquilo, okay? It's just a moxie" He turned to Mason who sat beside him. "Back me up here."

Mason ran a hand through his blonde hair, his mouth curving into a smile. "We are in the middle of Kooklandia. Pope's sort of right." He looked around dramatically. "Next thing you know, some Kook is going to ask us whether we valet parked our yacht."

Pope snorted, but his face still strained. "This is the last place I want to be," he murmured, beneath his breath.

JJ rolled his eyes. "Shut up and sit down" he said, pulling his chair open and setting his blanket down. Mason borrowed him, giving Pope a mock-serious look.

"Pope, buddy, you need to chill. Worst case scenario, we just get outta here by jumping into the water" Mason wiggled his eyebrows, adding. "You know, a graceful exit."

Pope laughed half-heartedly before eventually settling down into his chair. The sound of Kie approaching made them look up. She carried a tray of snacks and drinks, her eyes flickering to them with curiosity.
