It's been a few days now since I first visited the Black Diamond casino. These past few days now, me and Lester have been working on the plans for the heist... And so far, things are going pretty well! Well, for the most part at least. The plans are going smoothly, but at the same time... They're going by incredibly slowly at the same time. I'm starting to get a bit bored now at this point, so I decided to head over to Luis' place, see if there was anyone there that wanted to hang out with me today.
So, I knocked on the front door, the door opening quickly as I was greeted by Angela.
"Hey, Sofija! It's nice to see you again." Angela happily greeted me. "We're you looking for Luis? Or your dad? Luis isn't here right now, but..."
"Eh, no one specific, actually." I casually replied. "I'm just bored and wanted to see if anyone was here, heheh."
"Ohhh... Alright! Come on in then." Angela smiled, opening the door wider and allowing me to come in. Immediately I took in and looked around at the inside of the mansion. I could also see the living room, where the TV was on, Angela's eyes lighting up at the sight of whatever show was on the screen.
"Ooh! Hold on..." Angela quickly ran over to the TV, sitting down on the couch and staring intently at the screen.
"Whatcha watching?" I asked, sitting down on the couch next to her.
"It's an episode of this one crime documentary I've been binge watching lately..." Angela replied, her eyes still fixated on the screen. I watched with her for a few minutes. The episode was apparently about some man who killed his wife or some shit and got caught, the few minutes I was watching talking about how he got caught.
"Pfft, this guy seriously thought it was a good idea to dump both the body and his gun in the dumpster? What a fucking idiot." I chuckled.
"Heheh, yeah... Believe it or not, I've seen even dumber criminals on this show." Angela giggled, looking over to me. "So... You're pretty much a part of this crime life room, aren't you...?"
"Me? Whaaaat? No..."
"It's fine, your dad told me about it. And his past as well." Angela says. "Luis has been in the life for a while, so it doesn't bother me."
"Ah... Good. Just wanted to make sure you weren't secretly an undercover cop or something." I chuckled. "Hey, after this episode is over, you wanna go somewhere and like... Hang out or something?" I asked.
"Whoa, you really wanna hang out with me...?" Angela looked surprised, but a wide smile quickly appeared on her face as she nodded. "Of course! This episode is almost over anyways."
"Good! It'll be the ultimate girls trip." I say. "I've been hanging out with too many men right now." I say, Angela chuckling.
"Yeah, I get that."
Me and Angela were watching for a few more minutes, the episode finally transitioning into the ending credits.
"Ooh! Before we go, can I look at one more thing?" I ask, motioning for Angela to hand me the remote.
"Yeah! Here..." Angela handed me the remote. I grabbed the remote, looking through some of the channels until I found this specific channel, switching it to that one.
"Ooh... You watch these crime news channels too?" Angela asks. "I watch the one back in Liberty City all the time."
"Yeah... Watching the morons on here makes me feel a lot better about my own mistakes." I replied. "This Los Santos channel always has a ton of interesting shit on it."
The crime news channel is pretty self explanatory... It's basically a news channel that talks about all the latest crimes. And since this city is filled with crime... This channel pretty much always has something interesting to show. Pretty much every heist me and my friends have committed are always talked about on this channel, too. Hell, they pretty much spent weeks talking about the Union Depository job.
Right now, the channel was talking about this one killer that I'd seen them report on before... Someone they dubbed as the Cold Killer. Not sure why they call him that, but eh, doesn't matter much to me. Anyways, they were talking about his latest victim, whose body was just found this morning.
"The Cold Killer? Who's that?" Angela asks.
"Some serial killer who's been on the loose these past few months." I replied. "His murders are super weird, too. The victims are all of different ages, genders and whatnot, so they can't really predict who his next victim is gonna be. The places where all the bodies are buried have these weird markings on the ground above them as well. Literally every spot the bodies are found are marked, but they still can't seem to catch the dude... Oh! Look."
The screen quickly showed some of the markings, as I pointed at it.
"Hmmm..." Angela looked intently at the markings, until they were no longer on the screen. "The markings must have some kind of coding in them... Maybe that could give off a hint to whoever the Cold Killer's identity is." Angela says. "You know, it might sound weird, but I've always wanted to become a detective and solve these kinds of crimes... Just never had the money or time to do so."
"Whoa, for real? That's not weird at all." I replied. I then went silent for a moment, thinking as an idea suddenly popped in my head.
"Oh! I have an idea for something we can do today..." I say, Angela looking over to me as I pointed at the TV screen. "Let's go find the Cold Killer!"
"Whoa, r-really? I don't know, I... A-are you sure we could actually find them?" Angela asked, a nervous smile on her face as she twiddled her fingers.
"Of course we can! If those markings actually have some kind of code on them, I bet we can figure it out." I replied. "Besides, it'd be some good practice if and when you decide to become a detective someday. And don't worry, if we actually manage to find the dude, I'll make sure he doesn't hurt you."
"...Hmm..." Angela was silent for a moment, contemplating her answer... Before she finally gave it.
"Oh-ok! Yeah... It sounds fun, actually." Angela nodded. "Oh! And I know exactly where to start looking first... Any chance you know where the body of his first victim was buried?"
"Yup... I sure do."
