Mustafa's birthday falling on a Saturday is both a blessing and a curse—both for the same reason that he can sleep in without worrying about having to go to work. So, it gives Sharjeena the perfect opportunity to get up before him—even though she doesn't want to leave his side—and go downstairs to the kitchen to prepare him a hearty breakfast to start off the special day.

Morning sunlight brightens the beautiful penthouse apartment, which she and Mustafa moved into two months' prior. They initially planned to stay at their old place for a while longer, planning to move when it's necessary that they will need more room once they decide to try and have kids. But then their landlord, Ali's cousin, had said that the rent around the area was going up, including their own apartment. And while Sharjeena and Mustafa could easily afford it, they both discussed it and decided that it'd be smarter to move into the penthouse Mustafa had gotten for them as it's got exactly the kind of space they need, instead of paying a higher amount of rent at their old place that they were planning on moving out of eventually, anyway.

And as much as Sharjeena loved this new place when she first arrived, she had also set out on a mission to make it more homely. They left most of their furniture at the other apartment for other tenants to have, so if anyone moved in with less than ideal circumstances like she and Mustafa had, then at least they would have something in the apartment, unlike Sharjeena and Mustafa. Besides, the penthouse was fully furnished, anyway, so they didn't need to bring the other stuff.

But Sharjeena did bring many other things. Their wall decorations, most of their plants, some dishes. Their wedding picture, now in a nicer frame, hangs in the living room of their new place. More family pictures, and pictures of her and Mustafa, decorate the walls and tables, plants placed in corners where they will receive plenty of sunlight, and colorful throw pillows on the couch adding a more homely vibe.

In the kitchen where Sharjeena can admire the view of the city from the glass wall across from her, she sets to making Mustafa's breakfast. She finds herself humming as she makes his favorite eggs and paratha, knowing that today will be a busy but good day.

After everything that has happened, Sharjeena wants this to be a special birthday for Mustafa, because he deserves it. He thinks that he's going to spend the day with his friends and when he returns home, he and Sharjeena will go out for dinner. She made sure Ali, Ahmed, and Osama will keep Mustafa distracted and have a good time for the most of the day, while Sharjeena will be home getting things ready for the party she has planned. She and Mustafa can have a romantic dinner any night, but his birthday is one that should be celebrated with everyone. Now that he is finally on good terms with his parents—and so is she, for that matter—Sharjeena wants to leave the past in the past and have everyone gathered for his birthday.

But she made everyone promise not to breathe a word of it to Mustafa, since it will be a surprise. Her sisters will come over to help with any decoration, while everyone else will come later, before Mustafa is due home. She invited his three best friends, along with Danish, who Mustafa has become good friends with too after being partners at work. Along with Mustafa's parents and sister and her family, as well as her own family and Bilal bhai, of course.

Sharjeena has to cook enough food for seventeen people; she decided to get appetizers delivered from one of Mustafa's favorite restaurants, and her sisters are going to be bringing the drinks when they come to help. She decided she will cook a mix of Pakistani and some western dishes, Mustafa's favorite dishes, and while there will be a delicious chocolate cake for dessert, Mustafa's mom is also bringing kheer and her own mom is bringing halwa. Both mothers insisted on helping more with the cooking, but Sharjeena is stubborn and wants to do most of it herself, not even bothering to call a cook to come help. She might regret that decision later when she's doing all of the cooking, but that's a potential issue for later.
