Chapter #4 (Alone Time)

Another day has come as Naomi drinks her coffee on the table. Her mind still remembering what happened yesterday, how three guys were eyeing both of you as play things. But she vowed herself to protect you and herself and prevent doing the same mistake again.

Y/N: Hey Naomi! I'll be going to work now!

Naomi: (Confused) Huh?

She turns around to see you wearing some kind of uniform.

Naomi: You have work?

Y/N: Yeah, I work at an orphanage now.

Naomi: (Surprised) Wait, what?! You work at an orphanage?!

Y/N: Yeah, I am.

Naomi: Wait, wait, wait. Since when?

Y/N: A year ago.

Naomi: Woah... I-I never thought you'd be working at an orphanage out of all places.

Y/N: Anyways, I'll be off now. Don't do anything stupid.

You finally left the apartment as Naomi watches you leave, still surprised about your work choice.

Naomi: Wow... just, wow...

An hour has passed and you arrived at the orphanage with the kids immediately greeting you right away.

Olivia: (Happily) Welcome back, Mr. Y/N! We missed you so much!

Y/N: I missed you too, kids.

Jake: (Happily) Mr. Y/N! Mr. Y/N! I finally started to eat vegetables like you told me to and they taste delicious!

Y/N: Well that's amazing to hear, Jake.

Suddenly, one of your coworkers arrived.

Whitney: Alright kids, that's enough of that. All of you better head inside now.

Kids: (Unison) Yes ma'am!

With that, the children went back inside the building while Whitney approached you.

Whitney: Glad to see you here.

Y/N: Same, how's Anita doing?

Whitney: Still the same. Always tired from work but always energetic with me.

Y/N: (Jokingly) Especially in bed?

Whitney: (Laughs) Oh you know us well.

Y/N: Anyways, let's head back inside now. We've got a lot of work to do today.

Whitney: Ditto.

Meanwhile, back at the apartment. Naomi walks and looks around the place to see that almost nothing has changed... well, apart from the pictures of the two of you together now missing from the walls which is most obviously you removed it, though she understands where you're coming from with the removal alone. She lets out a breathe, knowing that it'll take time to regain your trust on her again.
