"I mean it's obvious, right? a family heirloom. what a better place to hide a message. he had to know it was gonna get back to me, right?" john b said. pope played around with the compass in the back and kiara sat in the passenger seat. colette sat right behind john b, facing jj with her legs in his lap."it's possible," kiara said. "it could also be possible that you concocting wild theories to help, you know, deal with your sad feels," pope said. "bro you know how I process my sad feels, dank nugs and the stickiest of ickies, that's how I do it," jj said, getting ignored by everyone else but colette, as she laughed.
"i'm not concocting okay? my dads trying to give me a message," john b said. "if it helps you beleive john b," kiara said. "look, I don't need a therapy session, okay? i'm not tripping out," john b said. "it's okay to trip, bro," jj said. "look, my dad is missing, okay. you don't what it's like to have to the person closest to you vanish. and then have no idea what happened. just wake up every morning wondering," john b said. "it'd be almost a year," kiara said, which just earned her a glare from john b.
"hey, he could have been kidnapped. that's definitely a possibility," jj said, trying to help. "yeah, could be in a soviet sub, getting interrogated by the kgb somewhere," pope added. "absolutely, of atlantis," jj said. colette just gave them a 'what the fuck are you talking about' look.
"look what do you think the message is?" kiara asked. "redfield. redfield lighthouse, that's my dads favourite place," john b said as the pulled up to the the fence around the lighthouse.
they all got out and looked up at the lighthouse. "right, you're gonna lost up and look out for bogeys, okay?" john b said to jj. "wait, why me?" jj asked, looking at everyone. "because you're not coming," pope answered. "why?" jj asked. "look, jj, there are independent and dependent variables. you're independent. we don't know what you'll do," pope said before jj told him to shut up.
"listen to me for a second, pope, you stand lookout with jj and colette, okay? if we get split up, we meet back at jjs house," john b said.
"wait I have to stay down here too?" colette asked. "just like jj, you're an independent variable," pope started. "actually never mind I don't care," colette said as she opened the twinkie door and sat on the edge with her feet dangling out.
"i'm gonna work on my merit scholarship essay, and i'm trying to keep felonies to a minimum," pope said.
"alright would you just shut up already?" jj asked.jj turned around to face colette, and he threw her the ball. he walked closer to her and smiled. "what's up?" she asked. "nothing just-" he was cut off by the sound of police sirens.
"oh, shit," pope said running to them and getting in the drivers seat. they quickly drove away, before the cops arrived.

john b, jj and colette were waiting in the car while pope when into the wreck to get kie. "she says she's not coming," pope yelled. "why not?" jj asked
"what'd you do to her john b," colette asked. "shit. hang on. i'll deal with it," john b said, getting out.soon they got kiara to agree to come so now they were all driving somewhere but colette didn't really listen to where.
"you mind if I just relax on this one? it's been a long day, and a lot of weird stuffs gone down. i'm just gonna lay low. oh do you want a hit of this?" jj offered colette. "don't mind if I do," she replied before taking a drag.
"pope?" she asked. "I'd keep the signal clear," he said. "dude okay. do you understand that your problem is that you don't get creative? if you got creative then-" jj was interrupted by john b.
"okay, look, I know I was wrong about the lighthouse, all right? and pretty much wrong about everything else going on. but I was right about one thing, my dad is trying to tell me soemthing," john b said.
"okay come on," john b said leading everyone through the yard. "i'm coming, this place is scary," kiara said. "john b, what are we doing?" colette asked. "okay you know how you try to remember a song and can't remember who sings it?" john b asked. "yeah," colette said. "so, redfield. this whole time I thought it was a place, right? but it's not a place. it's a person," john b said, holding his light up to the name of a tombstone.
"voi-effing-là," jj said. "see my great-great-grandmother, olivia redfield, that was her maiden name" john b said.
"help me with the door," john b said, as pope moved to help him. jj also went to help them but the door wouldn't move. "we didn't come this far to get this far, all right?" jj said, as a snake hissed and slithered out from a crack.
"a snake! that's a moccasin, all right. death in tall grass," jj started to bark at the snake. "jj shut up," kie yelled at him. "they're afraid of dogs, everyone knows that, man," jj said.
"stop barking at the snakes," john b said. "i'm just making sure it's clear," jj defended himself. "it's okay," colette laughed as patted his shoulder. "it's not funny. i'm saving your life," jj said.
"john, look. we're not gonna get in there. it's not budging. we should probably just go," pope said. "I can get through," kiara said. "what? you're gonna fit through the hole?" john b asked. "look this is about your dad, and honeslty I really don't believe in it. but you deserve to know the truth," kiara said.
they started moving branches that covered the hole. "i'm gonna boost you," john b said. "remind me what we're looking for?" "you'll know when you see it," john b answered. kiara looked at colette as she whispered "helpful."
"hold my flashlight," kie said hanging it to pope.
"all right, on three," but kiara had already jumped up. "or forget about three," john b said."flashlight?" she asked. "yeah, here," pope said, hanging her the flashlight. "you alive? got a heartbeat and everything?" john b asked.
"so far," kie said. "I need some more light," she said. "here," john b handed her his lamp.
"did you find something?" jj asked.
"oh my God," kiara said.
