the next day the group made their way out to the royal merchant in search for gold.

"all right jj, pin in here," john b yelled to jj who was driving the boat. "roger that! x marks the spot," jj said.

"all right, ladies and gentlemen. to going full kook," john b said dropping the drone into the water. colette was slowly adding more rope to drop the drone deeper as kiara would mark every hundred feet.

"all right jj, we're right over it. ten seconds northwest," john b yelled. "got it! ten seconds northwest. "one-hundred feet!" colette yelled, as kiara marked it.

"down, down, to goblin town. down, down you go my lad," pope quoted the hobbit.

"four-hundred feet! the tides turning," colette called out.

"hey jj, ten seconds easy south-southeast," john b said. "copy that!" jj yelled.

"jj, twenty seconds mid-speed, all right? south," john yelled," "copy that! aye, aye," jj replied.

"keep the tether out of the prop," jj said to colette. "i'm trying but the current isn't making it easy" she said. "seven- hundred feet!"

tbey all watched as thunder and rain started to roll in and the wind starts to pick up.

"jj, hold it steady!" john b yelled over the wind.

"nine-hundred!"

"jj, we'll turtle in this storm," john b said.

"nine-twenty!"

"crank it north by northwest! ten seconds!" john b yelled.

"john b, there's too much current! we're gonna lose it!" colette yelled.

"south, southwest, jj, hard!" john b shouted.

"what do you got pope? what do you see?" john b asked. "nothing, a whole lot of nothing," pope answered.

"you should be right about it," john b said.

"kiara, what are we at?" pope asked. "nine-sixty!"

"i'm at the bottom," pope said.

"oh shit!" colette exclaimed. "good God," pope said staring at the screen. "see anything?" jj asked.
"it's the royal merchant," john b smiled.

their smiles soon dropped when the went around the royal merchant multiple times and couldn't find any gold.

"it's not their. just pull the drone up, shit," john b said. "we can do another pass. recharge the batter," pope suggested. "we went over it three times, there's nothing there," jj said as colette walked over to him.

"shut up!" kiara yelled at jj. "what? it's true!" he said.

colette leaned her head gently against his shoulder, moving closer to him. "you okay?" he asked. "just freezing,"she replied, her teeth chattering slightly as the cold air nipped at her skin.. he wrapped his arm around her, and rubbed his hand up and down her arm trying to warm her up.

"the gold could be buried. we don't know," kiara said. "if it was there, it would have been found on the metal detector. somebody beat us to it," john b said.

"or it was never there," jj said.
