In the following weeks, Valeria began researching design schools, part-time programs, and even online courses that could fit into her schedule. But every time she tried to take a step forward, doubt crept in. She wondered if it was selfish to pursue her dreams now, if she was somehow failing her family by wanting more. The guilt weighed heavily on her, and more than once, she questioned if it was even worth it.
One morning, while preparing breakfast, Sofia noticed her mother’s distracted look and asked, "Are you okay, Mom? You seem… different."
Valeria smiled at her daughter, seeing her own younger self in Sofia’s curious eyes. "I’m just thinking about some changes, sweetheart," she replied, feeling a mix of fear and excitement.
Her daughter’s innocent question became a reminder that this journey wasn’t only for her but for her children too. If she followed her dreams, maybe they would see that it was possible to live for both family and self, and that sometimes, the hardest decisions were the most necessary.
