Mira stepped confidently into the arena, positioning herself on one of the two slim, towering podiums used by the battlers. Each tower was designed to be tall enough to keep them almost at eye level with the towering Bakugan below. Across the way, her opponent—a teenage girl with a spirited grin and a wild streak in her eyes—stood ready on her own podium, radiating determination.
As the countdown ended, both Mira and her opponent threw their Bakugan into the arena. Mira’s Wilda, a massive, rock-like golem, landed with a thundering impact. Her opponent’s Bakugan, however, was a sleek, humanoid lizard with shimmering white scales and golden armor, each hand equipped with a shield. The creature looked agile and sharp, its armor reflecting beams of light as it stood poised for battle.
Without wasting any time, Mira’s opponent activated two abilities in quick succession.
"Haos Flare! Haos Striker!" she shouted, her voice echoing through the arena.
The Haos lizard began to glow with a fierce, blinding light, momentarily dazzling both Mira and Wilda, rendering them unable to activate any abilities in response. The flash quickly revealed its true purpose: limiting Mira’s options for a brief but critical window. The lizard warrior lunged forward, its clawed strikes glinting as it charged at Wilda, delivering swift, calculated hits.
Wilda, despite his solid defense, struggled with the lizard’s speed. The opponent’s strikes were well-aimed, slipping through Wilda’s slow attempts to block. But even as the lizard warrior’s attacks made contact, Mira knew that her Bakugan’s resilience and sheer strength gave him a unique advantage. Wilda took each strike with a grounded steadiness, barely flinching as the lizard's claws scraped against his stony hide.
Eventually, the blinding light faded, and Mira sensed her opening. She activated two abilities with a determined shout, sliding the cards into her Gauntlet.
“Double Ability! Sand Beast and Volcano Hammer!” Mira called out.
In an instant, Wilda’s form dissolved into a swirling mass of sand, enveloping the Haos lizard warrior. The sand formed a thick, binding whirlwind, holding the lizard in place as Wilda used the moment to heal himself from the few minor scrapes he’d endured. Then, as the sand receded, Wilda reformed his massive shape, looming over his opponent. He raised his arm high and brought it down with a powerful strike, delivering a precise, crushing blow to the lizard’s torso.
The impact was immediate and overwhelming. The Haos lizard warrior’s golden armor flickered under the pressure, and with a defeated gleam, it shrank down, its light dimming as it reverted to ball form, rolling to rest beside its brawler.
Mira watched confidently from her podium, her satisfaction clear. Another victory for the Resistance.

As Mira caught her breath from the battle, her Gauntlet vibrated with incoming messages. She glanced down, quickly scrolling through each one.
Ace: We and Baron did it—the Dimensional Controller will go down at the final battle.
Baron: Yeah, piece of cake. Almost too easy.
Mira grinned at Baron's optimism, but Keith’s message came through with a reminder that brought her focus back.
Keith: Easy and too easy are dangerous. We have to play it safe and think of all scenarios. What if the Vexos find out about the bug? - Baron, you’ll need to keep an eye on your Gauntlet to make sure the Dimensional Controller is still under our control. Ace and Mira, since you’ve finished your battles, just prepare for the semi-finals. It’ll be me and Ace versus you and Baron.
