The Resistance made their way into Alpha City, the sun casting a bright glow over the bustling streets filled with tournament-goers and vendors. Keith and Ace arrived first, moving through the crowd with careful purpose. Keith wore a dark cloak over a navy-blue outfit, his hair temporarily dyed black and swept back. A dark mask covered the lower half of his face, hiding any recognizable features. Ace, dressed in a brown leather jacket and sporting red-streaked hair, kept his head down as they wove through the crowds.

Farther across the city, Mira and Baron approached from another direction. Mira had taken on a completely different look, her normally distinctive hair was now a deep chestnut color, pulled back into a tight braid. She wore a hooded cape that shaded her face, with simple civilian clothes that made her blend in effortlessly. Baron, beside her, was almost unrecognizable, his usually bright demeanor toned down to match the seriousness of their mission. His hair was dyed a dark green, and a pair of glasses rested on his nose, further obscuring his identity.

Keith and Ace made their way through the crowds, stopping occasionally to check the tournament maps displayed on large holographic boards scattered around. “Remember, we have to play it cool,” Keith murmured to Ace. “We’re just two more competitors here to try our luck.”

Ace gave a quick nod, adjusting his mask. “Right, we can’t afford any slip-ups. Not until we find out what we’re dealing with.”

Meanwhile, Mira and Baron stayed close to the back alleys, avoiding any direct confrontation with crowds. They spotted a tournament signup booth, and Mira subtly gestured to it. “That’s where we need to go,” she whispered. “We’ll keep a low profile and sign up separately.”

Baron glanced around, making sure the coast was clear. “Good idea. We’ll act like we don’t know each other once we’re inside, just in case anyone’s watching.”

The four of them maintained their distance as they maneuvered through the city, each with their own strategy, yet all with the same goal in mind—make it through the early rounds and gather intel on the Vexos. The tournament arena loomed ahead, a massive stadium where challengers from across the city gathered to test their skills. In their disguises, the Resistance was ready for whatever the Vexos and Alpha City had in store.

Baron took his place at one end of the coliseum arena, casting a quick glance around before activating his Gauntlet. He typed a brief message to Mira, who sat somewhere in the stands under a cloak and hood.

“Alright, Mira, wish me luck on this one.”

Her reply came seconds later. “You’ve got this, Baron. Stick with Nemus, keep it low-key.”

At the other end of the arena, his opponent—a tall figure in dark armor—readied their Bakugan and threw it onto the field. With a flash of blue light, a powerful Aquos Octogon emerged, an armored octopus-like Bakugan with menacing, sparking tentacles.

Baron took a deep breath. "Nemus, let’s go!" With a quick flick, he threw his Bakugan, and Nemus appeared—a towering, priest-like Bakugan, staff in hand and his golden light shining.

Octogon wasted no time, its tentacles snapping forward with a crackling sound. Baron slipped an ability card into his Gauntlet. "Light Pyramid Shield!" he called out.

A brilliant pyramid of light formed around Nemus, deflecting Octogon’s attack. Then, Nemus lifted his staff and swung, releasing an arrow of light directly toward the octopus Bakugan.

The opponent quickly activated a card. "Aqua Guard!" Octogon’s tentacles formed a barrier of swirling water, absorbing the light arrow with a hiss.

Baron grinned. "Nice defense—but let’s see you handle this. Light Arrows!"
