Y/n's Pov:

Days passed and I was able to hold the sword and swing it many times. BUT!

I still don't have a breathing form. Mitsuri said she wanted me to use love breathing, but it's not really my style. Also Obanai wanted me to use serpent breathing.

But I may or may not refuse?.

Anyway I was shopping for groceries. And that's when I bumped into? A guy with a mismatched Haori.

"Sorry" he said and walked away. 'mismatched Haori?'

My eyes widen. 'its the water hashira!'

Mitsuri had told me about the hashira's and what they looked like.

"W-wait!" I said and grabbed his haori. "Your the water hashira right?" I said and he nods.

"C-can you teach me how to use water breathing?" I said. "What's your name?" He says. "Y/n" I answered.

He looks at me for a while. "I was saved by Mitsuri and Obanai" I said.

"Okay than, I'll train you" he said. "Perfect!"

Time skip-

'the water breathing isn't for me'

"I guess water breathing isn't for you" Giyuu said.
"I know" I frown. "O-one more time!" I shout.

Giyuu sighs before nodding.

"Water breathing first form!" I said... And fucking ice came out!

"Ice?" Giyuu mumbled. "It's ice...it's ice!" I yell.

"I'm so happy! Thank you Tomioka!" I said and hugged him. He stays still as a rock.

"Hey you, get away from her" a voice said.

I let go and smiled Brightly at Giyuu before turning to Obanai.

"Obanai! Tomioka helped me get a breathing form!" I shout in excitement.

"Is that so? Why water breathing?" Obanai questions but I shook my head. "Ice breathing!" I said.

"She created a new breathing" Tomioka says.

"Let's go, and stay away from Tomioka" Obanai grabs my hand pulling me away from Giyuu.

'why?'

I turn my head over my shoulder to see Tomioka walking away.

I look back at Obanai
"Oni- OBANAI! I meant Obanai!" I yell.

Obanai looks at me, "Uhm why do I stay away from Tomioka?" I ask confused

"Nobody likes him" he said
"Why is that?" I said.
"Did you get the groceries?" Obanai said ignoring my question.

"S-sorry no, I ran into Tomioka" I said. "Y-your not gonna hit me right?" I said worried.

"I won't hit you and I'll never will" Obanai said going into the grocery store. "Go get the stuff I'll be waiting" he said

"Okay!" I smile.

Time skip-

"Mitsuri! I learned a breathing technique!" I said. "Really! What is it?!" She shouts.

"Ice breathing!" I said

"Ice breathing? I don't think I heard of that" she frowns. "No no! Tomioka helped me!" I said

"Tomioka?" She says. "Y-you don't like him?" I said. "Oh no! I just never guess Tomioka will help anyone" she puts a hand on her chin.

"Oh, well can you make dinner?" I said. "Mhm! And dessert are going to be Sakura mochi!" She gleams

"Foods ready!" I heard Mitsuri shout.

"Coming!" I yell running down the stairs.

"Once your done, can you show me your new breathing technique?" Mitsuri said.
"Sure" I said eating the food. "Here!" She said putting a mountain of Sakura mochi in front of me

"Oh...thanks?"

Time skip-

"Ice breathing first form!" I yell.

"Wow! Good job Y/n!!" Exclaims Mitsuri

"Thank you Mitsuri" I smile.

A kinda big time skip-

Two whole years has passed and tomorrow is final selection.

Over the past two years I had been very close to Obanai and Mitsuri, I see them as my father and mother.

One time I accidentally called Obanai 'father' he was surprised and so was I.
After that I immediately apologized over and over again.

I was now 13 years old. I still flinch over the smallest thing, honestly I even thought I wouldn't become a demon slayer with me flinching all the time.

I also used my last name Shinazugawa.
At first I was ashamed of using Shinazugawa as my last name, because of my father.

Oh! And Tomioka we are friends, he helped me train secretly. And Rengoku, he gave me a present when we first met. Even though he's loud, I still like him as a friend.

I think of him as a sweet and caring person.

And there's that Tengen guy... When we first met he called me 'unflashy' that was literally the first word he said to me. He's cool though, I guess.

And lastly Shinobu, she introduced me to Kanao and we instantly connected. Even though she doesn't talk much she uses a coin, I don't really mind.

I haven't met the other hashira's. I wonder how they look like. Hmm

"Y/n! Y/n!" A voice yelled. "H-huh?" I said, "She's been calling your name for the past 5 minutes" Obanai said.

"Sorry, I was deep in thought" I said.
"It's okay! So! Are you ready for final selection?" Mitsuri ask. "Hmm, I'm kinda nervous" I said.

"It's okay to feel nervous" Obanai says.
"Anyway you should get ready for bed" Obanai adds. "Okay" I smiled and stood up walking to my room.

Once I lay down on my bed... I couldn't sleep. I was hella nervous!!.

After a bit of thinking I got tired and went to sleep.
