-Chapter 5-

"Let go of me!" I screamed, struggling against his hold on my body.

"I cannot do that," he whispered huskily, and I could not help but take pleasure in the sound of his voice.

"You are my mate, little one," he told me sternly.

"I am not your anything! I do not even know your name!" I yelled angrily.

This man may be attractive, but he must be very arrogant if he believes I will succumb to his will.

"I shall scream!" I huffed.

"Others shall perceive it as a cry of pleasure," he chuckled.

My cheeks grew warm and I turned around to slap him for such outlandish talk.

However, before I reached his handsome face he quickly caught my hand in his own.

"As adorable as your trying to escape is, this will become quite bothersome after some time," he told me and firmly placed my hand at my side.

Suddenly, I smiled sweetly at him, catching him off guard. Taking my chance, I broke free of his grasp and dashed out of the ballroom.

Smirking in victory, I searched for any type of exit from the dark hallway. There were many doors, but they were firmly shut with no chance allowing me to open them. I screamed in frustration, quietly though so no one could hear me. Finally, the last door, an ancient oak door with dark symbols, gave way and I burst through it into a tiny room.

No light was present in the room, save from the dim light coming from the hallway. I squinted my eyes, attempting to make out the forms and shapes that I could barely see, when the large door creaked from behind me and slammed shut.

I cried out in terror and reached for the handle, but the light had disappeared, leaving me in complete and utter darkness.

"I have been expecting you," a powerful voice boomed from the darkness.

"Show yourself," I demanded shakily, attempting to overcome my fear.

The voice decided to ignore my command.

"You are not here to find your mate," the voice stated.

"How did you know that?" I gasped, my eyes widening.

"I know many things. I also know that you have come in search of your sister."

As odd as this voice was, she knew about Sasha. This could be my only chance.

"Where might I find Sasha?" I asked politely, attempting to display cordiality. I will do whatever is necessary to find my sister, even if it means sweet-talking a strange voice.

The voice laughed, it's powerful voice filling the tiny room.

"Your attempts at politeness amuse me, however it is not your time yet. Precious Ara, before you may be reunited with your sister you must fulfill your duties," the voice grew gentler as it spoke this time, and I could tell that it came from a woman.

"What duties do you speak of?" I asked angrily, shaking at the thought that this woman knew the whereabouts of my sister and she still refused to enlighten me.

"You, my sweet child, must take your rightful place as ruler of the Were Kingdom."

"Pardon me?" I had not expected such an answer.

"You have reached the age in which you are capable of becoming a strong leader. I see I have raised you well," the mysterious woman said proudly.

Raised me?

"Who are you?" I asked her, daringly stepping forward into the darkness.

I heard a scraping sound and suddenly a candle burst into flame.

I gasped in surprise, staring at the spitting image of myself.

"Mother?" I croaked, tears forming in my eyes.

"Yes, dear Ara. It is I."

Trembling, I stood in silence and gazed into her blazing green eyes so similar to my own.
