Author Note: Welcome to Bevie- Descendants 2 edition! Now, I want to share a few changes I will make to the plot before I begin.
1) Evie doesn't struggle with being a princess like Mal. In fact, she excels and does a perfect job.
2) This leaves Mal, Carlos, and Jay feeling like Evie doesn't need them anymore, so the 3 of them go back to isle.
3) Evie and Ben go back to the isle to get them; this is when Ben gets captured by Uma. For the most part, everything else is the same!
Without further ado, here's the chapter!
~~~
~Mal's POV~
I had woken from a daydream about the four of us being wicked... and heard the shutters of cameras flashing. Evie was being swamped by paparazzi and reporters again! This is like, the 4th time in one week.Not to mention, Evie has started wearing princess dresses, which isn't horrible, but, it's definitely not Isle Style. Despite Evie's protests for me to get my hair and wardrobe styled, I stayed with my purple leather jacket.
~No ones POV~
The reporters surround Evie, filming from every angle.
"Evie! Please, over here, Evie!"
"Only three days to the Royal Cotillion. Ever think a girl like you would be Lady of the Court?"
"How does it feel to be the most envied girl in Auradon?"
"Well, do you like being a princess?"
"Is Maleficent still a lizard?"~Evie's POV~
I thought deeply about what each of the reporters said. Ben was watching from the sidelines, smiling adoringly at me. I was going to ace this interview!
"I never could've imagined being a lady of the court, let alone the King's Lady. It still feels like a dream." I say happily. "I suppose I can see why someone would envy me. But my friends are actually really excited for me."
"I LOVE being a princess! It's almost like I was born to be one. And have NO fear -- Maleficent is still a lizard, but she's safely locked up and under constant supervision." I answer confidently before flashing a smile and posing for the reporters.~Ben's POV~
Evie only had a little media training from my parents, but she's aced every single interview that she's had. I couldn't be prouder, especially knowing that one day, we will be ruling Auradon, together.
I walk over and put my arm around Evie's waist.
"Thank you, all. We will let you know if any particular situation changes. Everything is going great." I say to the reporters and crowd.
"Did you ever think you'd be with a Villain Kid?" A reporter asks.
"We're done here." I say, not feeling the need to respond to such a question. Evie is the furthest thing from a Villain.
"Shush, shush! If you're here, it means you're trespassing, because this IS a school." Fairy Godmother tells the reporters. "I am going to ask once-- please leave. Now, on with it!" She claps twice and the reporters file away from the school.
"Ben, Evie." She says happily to us.
"Fairy Godmother. Thank you." I say.
"Thank you so much." Evie says sweetly. Fairy Godmother smiles before giving us space.
"So, how was I?" Evie asks flirtatiously.
"Evie, you were so perfect. I honestly think you answered those questions better than I answer questions." I hold her hand, and she blushes.
"Don't let it get to your head, though. And don't let them get to you." I warn her.
"I can't help but to love the publicity. I really feel like a royal celebrity!" Evie says, squealing with happiness. "I'm always prepared, Ben. You don't have to worry about a thing."
