A/N: Literally my mood for the story.... I love the idea.... but hate it by now..... I will revamp the whole idea and use it another time better for sure... this ain't the last one I am doing.... just kinda hate this style by now. It's not something I enjoy writing...... I just.... I kinda want this style for a certain book.... so this was trial and error and probably will stop soon... after this and some other stories.
As I stepped back, savoring the way their breathing turned shallow and ragged, I flashed them a wicked grin. They all looked ready to run — or pass out. Honestly, either reaction was equally entertaining.
Mineta stood in the back, his small frame trembling, his wide eyes darting back and forth in search of any way out. I cocked my head, smiling a little too widely as I fixed him with my gaze.
"What's the matter, Mineta?" I said, my tone light, almost playful. "You always seem so brave when you're not facing someone like me."
"You... you're insane!" Mineta stammered, his voice cracking. "W-we'll call for backup. You won't get away with this."
"Oh, I won't?" I drawled, arching a brow. "Let me remind you of one thing, little hero. I'm here because I was invited... and if it weren't for your precious rules about not killing..." I leaned closer, watching his pupils dilate with fear. "You'd be nothing but a memory by now."
They recoiled, and I stepped back to study their expressions. Kirishima, bless his stubborn heart, was clenching his fists, trying to muster some bravado while cradling his injured shoulder. Sero's expression was hard, unreadable, though a bead of sweat trickled down his temple as his eyes darted between me and the others.
"Alright," I said, letting my voice drop, filled with quiet menace. "Let's be real, shall we? None of you are going to 'win' this fight. The best you can do is run."
They stood there, fists clenching, looking desperate, hopeless. It was delicious. And to think, if I'd really wanted to end them, they'd already be out for good.
"Why don't you just get out of here?" Kirishima snarled, his voice shaking but his eyes filled with fire. "You're wasting your time."
I laughed, low and unhinged. "You think I'm wasting time? This, my friend, is exactly why I'm here. I get to play a game, have a little fun, and maybe eliminate a few heroes along the way. I'd say that's time well spent."
I turned away, pausing to tilt my head and give them a smug smile. "Oh, and don't worry, I'm sticking to the rules. No killing. But if you think I'm going to go easy..." I pulled out my knife and twirled it between my fingers, eyeing each of them with a glint of something dark and predatory. "Let's just say that elimination can be messy."
"L-leave us alone," Mineta whispered, shaking from head to toe. I smirked at him, delighted by how his knees seemed to buckle under my gaze alone.
With a swift motion, I lunged forward, striking fast, making them scramble out of the way. Kirishima went for a punch, his hardened fist aiming for my face, but I sidestepped, jabbing him in the side with the handle of my knife hard enough to leave a bruise. He staggered back, gasping, and I tilted my head with a smirk.
"You'll have to try harder than that," I taunted, watching him fume, fists clenching again.
Sero sent a burst of tape toward me, but I evaded easily, laughing as his tape ended up catching on the walls behind me instead. I ducked low and swept his legs out from under him, watching him hit the ground with a sharp, satisfying thud.
Before he could scramble to his feet, I pressed my knee into his chest, keeping him pinned. "You really thought that would work?" I asked, my voice dripping with mock pity. "How cute."
With one swift motion, I pulled him up by his collar and tossed him toward Kirishima, who barely caught him. I straightened up, sheathing my knife, watching them panting, beaten but still not fully broken.
"Alright, you lot. I'll leave you with something to remember me by." I paused, letting my voice drop to a chilling whisper. "Just because I'm not allowed to kill doesn't mean I won't enjoy every minute of this."
Turning on my heel, I walked away knowing that this is enough for nezu to have them eliminated, feeling their stares like needles on my back. But I paused one last time, glancing over my shoulder with a smirk.
"Here's a parting thought," I said, almost lazily. "If you were smart, you'd be thanking your luck that you're still standing. But knowing you heroes... you'll probably just keep coming back for more."
