the woman smiled as she held the positive test in her hand, brainstorming ideas on how to tell her husband.
she was having a baby! she was so happy. her and her husband had been praying for a baby for years now and it was finally happening!
in the same city, a teen girl who was only 16 years old sat with her mom in a clinic's waiting room. tears filled her eyes.
"mom I don't want to do this," the girl whispered. her mom laughed and said, "think about your future. you don't want a baby right now. this will be quick and we can get ice cream and rent a movie afterwards!"
in the quiet lobby, the girl sat, hands on her middle, praying that her baby would be safe in Heaven when the time came.
in another part of the USA, a woman and a man picked up their newly adopted son from the hospital. they finally had that family they wanted all these years.
the biological mother watched the couple leave with the baby she had made sure was healthy and growing properly in her womb. nine months and swollen ankles led her to do the hardest thing she would have to do, but she knew she couldn't take care of him.
she would have to be back at the homeless shelter tonight. she only hoped that her food was still there and nobody had taken it.
thirty minutes away, a couple cried over the loss of their unborn daughter. she was only twelve weeks along but there was no heartbeat.
"maybe we can try again soon," the husband whispered as he comforted his sobbing wife.
"but I wanted this baby so bad," the woman thought. she had always wanted a child.
she suffered from infertility and this was their first round of IVF. and it ended in heartbreak.
outside a clinic, pro-life men and women stood with signs and begged the women not to go in. there was someone out there who would want the precious life in the women's wombs.
everyday, the population was decreasing even when babies were being born. millions of unborn children never would get the chance at a life. and the waiting list for adoptive parents would get longer and longer.
the woman waited for her husband to get home from work. he smiled so big and kissed her head as they talked about their new baby.
they were going in for an ultrasound the following week and couldn't wait.
the girl with shaking hands and doubts running through her head was given a sedative for trying to leave the operating room.
after the procedure, her mom took her home and she went to bed. she didn't want to talk. her child's life was just ended and she didn't want it to.
the couple got their newly adopted son ready for bed and kissed his head.
his biological mother cried in despair when she saw her food was gone. someone had taken all she had, and she didn't even have her child to hold.
And far above the clouds, babies galore babbled and cooed. Jesus watched over the little children. they were always safe with Him.
Psalm 127:3: "Children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward"
every baby deserves to live. every baby deserves to have a family. every life deserves love. all lives matter.
