"Bathroom's free." I step out of the steamy bathroom, wrapped in a towel, another twisted around my hair. The cooler air in the room gives me a shiver as I adjust to the temperature change.
"Thanks," Jade says, walking past me with her towel slung over her shoulder. She closes the bathroom door behind her with a soft click.
"I feel so much better," I say, sitting down on my bed and pulling on my underwear, letting the towel fall to the floor.
"Same," Laelynn says from across the room. She's seated at a desk, carefully applying eyeliner in the small makeup mirror. "Brian really had us dancing our butts off today."
"Should I wear the yellow dress or the blue one?" Daisy asks, holding up the two garments as she stands in her underwear.
"Yellow," Laelynn and I say at the same time.
Daisy grins. "Yellow it is!"
I glance at Laelynn's outfit—a pair of black baggy jeans with chains and a simple white top. She looks effortlessly cool. "What about me? I don't have anything cute."
"You can borrow something of mine," Daisy offers, rummaging through her pile of clothes. "I have this purple top. It'll look gorgeous on you." She holds it up for me to see—a cropped, shiny number with a silky texture.
"Oh, that's really cute," I say, catching it as she tosses it over.
"Oh, and I have some zebra-print baggy jeans that'll look amazing with that," Laelynn chimes in. "I'm sure we're the same size. They're in the second drawer."
"That's maybe a little optimistic. But I'll try." I laugh, pulling the jeans out and slipping them on. To my surprise, they fit perfectly.
"See? Like a glove," Laelynn says with a wink.
"You look gorgeous," Daisy adds as she runs product through her curls. "Purple is totally your color."
After finishing our hair and makeup, we head out for dinner.
"And then I told her, 'They deserve each other,'" Laelynn says, recounting a story about her ex cheating on her with her former best friend.
As we walk down the hall, I suddenly remember something. "Oh, crap—I forgot my cigarettes," I say, stopping in my tracks. "You guys go ahead and grab your plates; I'll catch up."
"We can wait for you," Daisy offers.
"No way! If we don't hurry, the boys will start eating without us," I laugh, turning to jog back toward the room.
I open the door and start rummaging through the piles of clothes and makeup scattered across the room.
Damn we made a mess in here.
A knock at the door interrupts me.
"Coming!" I call, spotting my cigarettes on the desk next to an open bottle of foundation. I grab them, shove them in my pocket, and open the door.
"Oh, hey Zayn," I say, smiling as I quickly close the door behind me to hide the chaos inside.
"Hi," he says. "You ready for dinner?"
"Yeah, but you know the others are already at the cafeteria, right?" I ask as we start walking down the hall.
"I didn't see you, so I thought I'd check on you first," he shrugs.
Aww is he shy about meeting everyone? He'll love them.
"That's sweet of you," I say as we reach the cafeteria doors. "Want to walk the buffet together?"
