~~ Elijah Landon ~~
Earlier that morning
I looked down nervously at the present in my hand, then at the door in front of me. It was Takumi's door, and although I'd walked through so many times, this time, I couldn't seem to find the strength to open the door.
I sighed and lifted my hand to knock, then realised I'd never had to knock to go into his room, and I would probably sound stupid doing it right now.
Why is this so hard??? It's just a birthday present. That I'm giving to him early because I know he won't be home tomorrow. It's nothing special. Nothing at all.
...
It could never be special.
...
I felt like screaming. I paced in front of the door with the wrapped home-made present. I'd given it so much thought over the week, and I finished it last night.
What if he hates it? What if he reads too much into it, and finds out that I've been in love with him for ages, and that I've always been jealous of other people he dates, and that I've rejected everyone for the chance to maybe be with him, and-
The front door closed, which told me that Takumi's mother had just left.
This is perfect. I can give it to him, then we can be alone when he opens it.
...
...
I can't do it.
I sigh and brace myself, opening the door to find Takumi...
Still asleep.
I breath out another sigh, and walk up to his bed. He looks so pretty when he's sleeping, his face peaceful, his hair messy and adorable, his lips parted slightly...
I find myself leaning a little too close to him and quickly take a step back, my face hot.
Pull yourself together, idiot.
I kneeled next to him and reached out, shaking his shoulder lightly.
"Taku, wake up."
I smiled at the way he groaned and grumbled, but when he opened his hazel eyes, I hid the present behind my back with one hand.
I'm a coward.
Takumi sat up fast and almost knocked me in the face.
"What the hell, man?? When did you- how did you-"
"You're mum let me in. She said to wake you up because school starts in 10 minutes."
I watched Takumi put on his glasses, and I internally felt like screaming again, except this time it was because Takumi wearing glasses plus bed hair was so freaking adorable.
I fell back and crossed my legs on the ground, hiding the present in my lap. I gave Takumi a happy smile to cover the fact that I both found him hot and that I couldn't give him his present.
"Fiiiiinnnneeee but wait for me downstairs."
I pouted and my grip tightened on the present in my lap.
"Why? We've seen each other naked before-"
"GET OUT."
I giggled as Takumi threw a pillow at me. I stood up slowly, trying to make it look casual as I did my best to hide the present from him. I winked at Takumi as I shut the door, before I let out a sigh of relief and slumped against the door, crouching and staring at the present that was still in my hand.I'm such an idiot.
...
He's so fucking cute.
...
I'll give it to him later. I will.
With a dejected sigh, I put the present at the bottom of my bag and sat with my back against the wall, thinking about Takumi's adorable morning expression.
...
One day, I'll tell him.
...
But that doesn't have to be today.
Note: YAYY you guys got Elijah's POV from the first chapter (he sighed a lot lol.) I have my exams, so I will try my best to update as soon as I finish next weekend, okay? 😘🥰
