After dinner, everyone retired to their rooms, the house falling into a soft hush as the evening deepened. Shahzain and Noor tucked Ayaan and Hoor into bed, sharing gentle smiles and laughter with the children, who slowly drifted into dreams. It was a warm, loving ritual, one that made Shahzain and Noor feel like a family, bound by simple but powerful moments of togetherness.
Once the children were asleep, Shahzain took Noor’s hand gently, leading her back to their room. Noor slipped into the bathroom to freshen up, and when she emerged, her face was soft with the ease of comfort, her hair slightly damp and framing her serene expression. Shahzain glanced at her, a smile touching his lips. “Tum araam karo,” he suggested, his voice low but warm with care. He wanted her to rest, knowing she was still recovering and needed as much calm as possible.
Then, Shahzain went to freshen up himself. When he returned, refreshed and ready to spend a quiet night with Noor, he found the room unexpectedly empty. His heart skipped a beat, a flicker of concern tightening his expression. “Noor?” he called softly, but the silence in the room was his only reply.
Just then, he noticed the door to the balcony slightly ajar, the cool night breeze seeping in. Moving toward it, he stepped outside and found her there, standing alone, gazing out at the moonlit sky. Noor stood still, lost in her thoughts, her face bathed in the silver glow of the moon. She seemed ethereal, her expression calm yet distant, as if she were in a world of her own.
The moonlight highlighted her features, making her look like a vision—a real-life Noor, her name embodying its meaning perfectly. There was a quiet strength to her as she gazed at the stars, a tranquil elegance that took his breath away. She wore a simple suit, the fabric soft and plain, yet on her, it looked as beautiful as the finest silk. Shahzain could feel the chill of the night air; she must be feeling it too, yet she seemed so absorbed in her thoughts that she hadn’t noticed the cold.

Without a word, Shahzain went back inside, grabbed a shawl, and returned to her. Stepping up behind her, he gently wrapped the shawl around her shoulders, his hands lingering for a moment to secure it snugly around her. The sudden warmth startled Noor out of her reverie, and she turned to look at him, her eyes wide with surprise and a soft smile touching her lips.
“Gift wrap kar rahe hain kya aap?” she teased, a light laugh escaping her. There was a playful glint in her eyes, one that made his heart skip.
Shahzain grinned, pulling her closer by her shoulders. “Kya tum koi gift se kam ho?” he replied smoothly, his voice rich with warmth. “Lekin tum mera azeez tohfa ho. Sirf mera.” His voice softened, becoming almost a whisper, but the intensity of his words struck Noor deeply. Her cheeks flushed, and she lowered her gaze, her heart fluttering at his words.
