"It's cold" Nayu thought to himself as he woke up. Blinking a few times, trying to adjust his eyes to the dark. Nayu slowly opened his eyes, groggy, and disoriented. His head ached and his body felt heavy like he was drugged. As his vision cleared he realized that he isn't outside anymore near all the dead bodies. His surroundings were dimly lit with flickering candles, eerie shadows and the air had a lingering metallic and wet smell to it.

He tried to move but found himself chained to a piece of rubble in the middle of a seemingly abandoned church. The chains weren't normal and were reinforced with nen but Nayu was confident that he'd still be able to break it. But before he could do that, the wooden doors creaked open and there he saw two main figures, Hisoka and Illumi, but with more company behind them.

The sheer power and aura from the people entering the room made Nayu shiver.

Hisoka's eyes gleamed with amusement, his lips turning into a playful smile.  "Ah, you're awake. How sweet of you to join us, little fruit." His voice was like honey, smooth and dripping with sweetness.

Illumi stood quietly behind him, his dark gaze cold and calculating. He didn't say a word, but his eyes exchanging glances with Hisoka was a hint that they were communicating silently. Nayu could feel the weight of their eyes on him, each one analyzing him, studying him like a specimen.

"So um, what now?" Nayu sounded awkward, I mean how was he supposed to feel in this situation? His body still felt sluggish, most likely caused by nen but he felt better every second that passed.

Hisoka's playful expression only widened.

"Oh, don't worry, darling. We're not here to hurt you—" Hisoka walked around Nayu, his presence unnerving. "I'm just so fascinated by you. You've got this raw energy, something untamed, something delicious." He leaned in close, his breath warm on Nayu's ear. "I want to see what makes you tick, little fruit."

Nayu instinctively pulled away, disturbed by the perverted clown.

"So, are you going to tell me why you brought me here? I've got things to do" Naya asked.

Illumi finally spoke, his voice as monotone as ever. "First, You've caught our interest, more than that you caught Chrollos interest. Second, You wanted to know who the culprits were, so we gave you what you wanted"

Nayu, hearing the name "Chrollo" was instantly intrigued. He has heard this name being mentioned by his Father before, something about being a leader of a troupe..... Ah yes, the Phantom Troupe.

"Chrollo?" Nayu repeated, confusion still clouding his mind. "Why would he care about me?"

Hisoka's grin deepened. "Oh, dear fruit, I don't think you understand. We've all taken an interest in you, your raw power and potential~"

Nayu's thoughts raced. He knew that he was powerful but taking the troupe , Hisoka, and Illumi all at once in a fight is going to be annoying.

"I'm not going to join you," Nayu said, the words feeling strange on his tongue.

Illumi's cold eyes never left him. "You don't have a choice."

Nayu felt a chill run down his spine. He knew they weren't just threatening him—they meant every word. Hisoka, on the other hand, seemed entertained by the entire situation.

"Oh, I like him," Hisoka said with a gleam in his eye. "Such fire, such... spirit. I think Chrollo will enjoy him even more now."

Before Nayu could respond, a figure behind the two men stepped forward. Chrollo Lucilfer.

Nayu's heart skipped a beat. Seeing the dangerous man his father talked about in front of him made him felt exhilarated.

Chrollo walked with confidence, his dark eyes studying Nayu as he approached.

"Interesting," Chrollo said, his voice soft but carrying a weight that seemed to press down on the room. "I've been hearing a lot about you, Nayu. You've caught the attention of the Troupe, something not easily done."

Nayu met his gaze, trying to hide the unease in his chest. "What do you want from me?"

Chrollo smiled, though there was no warmth in it, it was like he was hiding something behind it. "I want you to show us what you can do. We don't just take in anyone. But you, there is something in you. There is something so powerful and strong within you." He stepped closer, his eyes never leaving Nayu's. "Join us, Nayu. Or face the consequences."

As Nayu stared at Chrollo, and the members of the troupe who slowly appeared behind their leader, a wave of cold realization swept over him. The Phantom Troupe was dangerous, his father wasn't exaggerating his stories about the troupe
but that didn't mean he had to join them. He wasn't going to fall into their web—he had his own path, his own reasons on why he went here. He had a mission, but the way Chrollo spoke, with that quiet, calculated confidence, made it clear that they weren't going to let him walk away unscathed.

Nayu took a deep breath, keeping his face neutral. "I'm not joining you," he said firmly, meeting Chrollo's gaze. "I've got my own fucking reasons for being here."

Hisoka chuckled, a dark amusement dancing in his eyes. "What a spicy little fruit~ and what makes you think you can refuse us and still walk away, hmm?"

Illumi, as always, said nothing but regarded Nayu with his cold, unblinking stare.

Chrollo remained calm, his expression unreadable. "I think there is a bit of a misunderstanding," he said softly. "I'm not asking you to join us, Nayu. I'm simply giving you the option. The world we live in is a dangerous one, and there are those who would try to tear you apart. We're offering you a way to ensure your survival."

"Survival? Dangerous world? HA! I'm not fucking fragile, I live in a place that is more shitty than this. All I've known is survival" Nayu, in a rage, broke the chains infused with nen surprising everyone present.

"I don't need your protection," Nayu said, straightening his posture. "But I do appreciate the offer."

Chrollo smiled slightly, as if he had expected that answer. "You're not the first to refuse us, and you won't be the last. But you'll find that survival isn't just about strength. It's about the alliances you choose." He turned to Hisoka and Illumi, then back to Nayu. "You'll see. We can be... useful to you, even if you don't choose to stand with us."

"I'll handle things my way, But I don't want to make an enemy out of you either. I'm not here to fight you, or get in your way, I'm just here on a mission that my father sent me on." Nayu said while walking out of the dilapidated church.

"What mission is that if I may ask?  Chrollo said

"To find a dagger called Nexus"

Before Nayu could exit the church entirely, Chrollo immediately ran up in front of him and held Nayu's chin. "Well then you're in luck, I heard that the dagger Is gonna be featured in the auction, and we are gonna steal it. Wanna join us Nayu?"

........

"Alright, I'm in. So what's the plan?
