Chapter 1

I never knew that I will be falling in love with an F1 driver.

"Hey Artemis" I hear my cousin Lydia screaming from outside the bathroom while I'll try to get ready so we can go out and have some fun after our busy working schedules. We always try to find some time to spend all three of us just for a week or a few days.
"Come on! It's already late and we don't want to lose our reservation at the restaurant" says
Lydia again. "Yes Artemis, we're already at the door, if you are not gonna be out at the next minute, we are going by ourselves and your are going with empty stomach to bed" continues Anna where her twin sister left of.
"Can both of you please stop complaining? I Was just using the bathroom, I am ready to go! Do we have the navigation for the place or should I put it on my phone again?" I say
"No we've got it" they say
"Are you sure? Cause the last time you said it we got lost at the centre of Athens even though we live at that city all of our lives!"
"Yes we are sure! Now let's go cause I am starving and really need to eat".
We closed our Airbnb's door behind us and began to walking towards the restaurant.
In Greece August is mostly one of the hottest month all year and the specific periods of time always got hectic with people from all around the world. But being a Greek you get used to see all the tourists walking by while taking pictures of almost everything.
Some times me and my cousins would try to guess where there from, what they wearing or the different accents and languages that we will hear.
For our trip we decided to visit a island that we never been before, so we can see something different. So we chose Corfu or as the Greeks know it "Kerkyra". Corfu is a the Ionian Sea that Greece has, next to Italy. It has these beautiful beaches and a nice story behind it, especially a musical one and that was one of the thing that I've been wanted to visit it since I heard its history at the university.
I am a musician, I been working in the last year to a conservatory teaching about musical theory, piano and the children choir, and at the same time I am trying to publish music books for children, so they can have some fun when they learn about music and not be bored with so many information with no imagination. So I keep myself busy 9 out of 12 months and summer is the season that I can be a little bit more relaxed than Christmas and Easter season.
With some conversation and almost getting lost again we finally arrived at the restaurant. Thank goodness we were only 10 minutes late (typical Greeks) They sat us to our table and we started discuss what we should eat tonight. After a while and after our main dishes came while we were being the loudest in the shop with our laughter remembering funny moments from our childhood and our high school years, I observed a guy looking at me from the table across us. At first I didn't pay attention because I was dozing out that moment but then my cousins, being the spies that they are when guys are looking at us, they were telling me that one was keep looking at me.
"He's keep staring at you for about 5 minutes straight" Anna said.
"He's dozing out, he isn't looking at me" I answered.
"Um yeah he does" Lydia says too.
So I decided to look at his way an I saw him looking at me. I can see some facial characteristics such as his brown curly hair and his piercing blue-greenish eyes. His skin tone was light olive skin but I can see he is suntanned too, cause you can see he had some red in his chicks and nose from the sun.
"He is kinda cute" I replied
"Then tell the service to give him your phone number or any of your social media" Lydia said
"No way! You know than I am not that bold, I'll just observe a little bit and then when we are ready to leave we are leaving, and if something it's going to happen it's going to happen"
"Fineee" said my cousin.
After 10 minutes and a lot of looking at each other I tell my cousin that it's time to leave if we want to go dance for a little bit at a club nearby the restaurant.
"Either we're going now or I am heading to bed and you'll be going by yourself, and I know you're not going to cause you always want me to be with you" I said to them
"Haha yeah you wish, we don't need you, BUT we haven't had fun in a long time just the three of us so you're coming even if you like it or not" Anna said to me
"Let's go then!" I said with excitement in my voice.
We enter the club and I can tell it was already packed but thank goodness we found a corner and sat down waiting for our drinks to come.
Half an hour later and a half mojito, we were dancing on the dance floor laughing and having fun without caring about anything and at that moment as I was doing a spin I see him again walking in the crowd and coming on our way with his friends..
I can see now that he is kinda tall and athletic but not in an ugly way athletic, you know because most of the guys are going to the gym to get puffy and I always hated that kind of body. As he is approaching me I start to panic a little bit because I've never been in these situation so I decided to go back in our table and drink another sip of my drink. Mostly I wanted to be prepared and a little bit more relaxed even though I don't usually drink at all.
I open my phone and saw the time, 2:30 am, goodness I'm only 26 and I can't handle stay up late anymore! At that moment I hear a voice next to me almost yelling at me and scaring the crap out of me
"Anything interesting in there?"
I look up,ready to curse him the Greek way, and all of the sudden I saw the guy from the restaurant. Instead I stay
"You scared me the crap out of me!" Angrily
"I am sorry, I didn't want to do that"he replied and I can hear his British accent coming out of him. Man, I love British accent cause I always had a crush on Tom Hiddleston.
"I forgive you this time" I say
"I am Lando by the way" he introduced himself
"I am Artemis" I say
"Can you say your name again?" He sounded confused with it so I laughed and repeat it
"Artemis, you know the goddess of hunt? In English they translated as Diana" I say
"Ohh ok, like our lady Diana"
"Yeah like yours, but in the Greek way, so I assume you are from England?"
"Yeah, United Kingdom"
"Cool, I love London, I've been there once, I am a huge Harry Potter fan, sorry that was unessasery" I said quickly.
"No worries I would have asked any way, so how long are you here?" He asked
"Um about 2 days I think, it was the perfect time for me and my cousins to relax a little bit from work and have some fun" I said to him
"What about you?" I asked him
"I think around 5 days with the boys, we are going to be here for another 4-5 days I think, then we need to head off again"
"Your work leave ends around that time huh?"
"Kinda, so have you been to any beaches here?" He asked
"Um yeah but only to this that is closed to our Airbnb, but we only been here for 2 days and we want or I want to see more from here, you've been more days you should know more" I said laughing a little bit.
"We found a great beach only 10 minutes away from here by car you should join us" he said
"That would be nice but, we don't have a car and that way we planned to stay in the city, so we can have it all on our plate and use a taxi if we need to and pay less inside the city than more money to get us somewhere outside the city" I answered
"I get it, but we can pick you up if you want and go all together" he suggests
"And how we don't know that you will not cause us any harm?" I asked between joking and being serious.
"You are right, but you can always share your location with someone that you know and I can give you my number so we can communicate"
He says
"Ok, but we have different phone numbers, mine is a Greek and yours I guess is a British one"
"Do you have what's up?" He asked
"Yeah I do actually, does that works for you?"
"Sure"
We exchanged our numbers and we said goodbye cause we were talking for an hour and I was starting to get sleepy
"Don't forget to text that you got home safely" he said
"Ok" I said and just like that we paid for our drinks with my cousins and left.
Lydia couldn't hold herself and asked
"Sooo?!"
"so what?" I asked
"Are you kidding me? You were talking with him about an hour and you don't get to share anything with us?" Anna replied
"Well, we talked about stuff and he asked if all of us want to go with them to a beach that is 10 minutes from here by car, I didn't give him an 100% yet cause I wanted to ask you first" I said to them
"How do we know that there not killers or something?"
"Well he gave me the idea to share my location with the couple that has the Airbnb, and sound it like a great idea so if you all want to go I am going to text him and plan it" I said
"Ok, that's sounds good"
"Yeah it's ok from me too"
"Alright then, here it goes nothing" I said while texting him nervously that we got home safe and the time we will be ready for tomorrow. We washed our make up off, put our pyjamas and went to bed waiting for the next day to come.
