After hearing my father's words I instantly felt my heart shatter. "What do you mean she was shot? Who would be shooting up my house anyway?" No one responded which was actually pissing me off. I looked around at them while rocking Kai who was sound asleep not even aware of what was happening.
"I asked a question, my mothers life is on the fucking line and yall can't even tell me why?" I looked over at Dave who had his head in his hands. "I gotta tell you something India." India? What the fuck did he do.
I nodded for him to continue. "When we first met you know how I owned the club." He paused again waiting for a response. "yes dave I know what is it?" I was starting to get very irritated because why are you beating around the bush?
"That wasn't my only job umm... I was in the game." "What game? Mario cart nigga? Please specify what you're telling me?" I could feel so many emotions running through me all at once. "I was a kingpin?" The fuck? I looked around at everyone else as they waited for a response. "Im sorry." I chuckled. "Your a what?" "I WAS a kingpin." He emphasized was like that was somehow going to help his situation.
I took a minute to look around the room and everyone looked guilty. wowwwwww. Even my so called best friends seemed to know what the fuck was going on. Hell, did my mom know too. "So everyone knew about it but im the one sitting here like a dumbass."
"I was beefing with this nigga and shit got out of hand but now its over and I'm out, I'm just doing the club so I can be there for you and Kai." "oh don't give me that bullshit about how you did this for me, maybe you did but you know what? You fucking lied, all of you lied to m-"
"Wait, so me being followed, and the car accident was because of your beef with some nigga?" He just looked down trying to avoid any eye contact with me. "My house was shot up with my mother inside of it because of YOU!" I shouted and the room was filled with Kairi's loud cries. I shook her a little trying to calm her down. "I'm sorry mama, it's okay it's okay." I shushed making her quiet down instantly.
"Mama I'm s-." "Get out." I couldn't even look at him, hell any of them for that matter. "My daughter was just born I'm not going anywhere." Oh this nigga testing me. "Were you thinking about your daughter when you didn't tell my fully pregnant ass that you were a fucking kingpin, the moment I fucking met you my life was in danger and you didn't say shit, so fuck you, Get out, get out, get the fuck out."
"Matter of fact all of yall get the fuck out, don't come in this fucking room anymore." "Now you better watch your language when you talk to me Marie." My father had the nerve to speak up. "If my mother dies so help me god yall will never see me or this baby again."
"You can't keep my child away from me." "Get the fuck out before I hit this button and I have them put you out, do not test me." I placed Kairi in the cubby next to me so she could sleep peacefully.
As soon as they left the room I let out the loudest cry ever. "M-mommy Please b-be O-okayyyy." I held onto my chest because of the pain I was feeling. Everything is going so wrong. My family lied to me, the love of my life lied to me, and the same hospital I gave birth in is the same hospital she's fighting for her life in.
