Dave and I were getting ready for our date tonight. We've been trying to spend time together every Saturday because we didn't really do it as much when we first started dating. Being pregnant kind of made things difficult, but now that she's finally here and with her grandparents we can finally have some alone time.

"Damn." I looked up at Dave who was watching me put my earrings on through the mirror. "You like it." "yeah baby you look beautiful come here." He turned me around and pecked my lips 3 times. "Come on ion wanna be late for this." I grabbed his hand and we walked downstairs and left.

"ooo when you get this?" I asked as we walked over to his new Bentley truck. "Got it this morning, yours coming tomorrow." I just stopped and looked at him. He said that shit like it was nothing. "Daveeeee you have to stop buying me cars, I barely drive the other one." "I don't care, ima buy you whatever I want to buy you."

"You gone have kai so damn spoiled." "Yep, and she finna start walking  soon, she can have whatever she wants." I just shook my head as I got in the car. He closed the door before running to his side and getting in. 'Where we going?" "It's a surprise."

We never do surprise dates. We always tell each other where were going, but he wanna be extra tonight. "Here you go." "I promise you'll love it." He smirked before starting up the car.

Once the car came to a stop I realized we were at the beach. I love the beach. "So far so good." I leaned over and pecked his lips. "Yeah I know, put this on though." He placed a black scarf in my hand making me smack my lips. "Daveee." "I promise you gone like it mama." I sighed before putting it on and making sure I couldn't see.

I heard Dave get out on his side before hearing the door open on my side and feeling his hands on mine. "Come on." He helped me out the car and led me to whatever. After a few more steps we finally stopped. I could tell we were close to the ocean because I could hear the waves. "Alright take it off." I nodded before taking off the scarf, and frowning once I seen my family standing there. The hell.

I started walking towards them but they stopped me making me look at them weird before turning around to see Dave and Kai standing next to a big ass 'Marry Me' sign that was surrounded by roses. I could already feel the tears coming out as I walked towards them. "Mama." Kai looked up at me and smiled, showing her little teeth at the bottom. "You in on this too huh." I tickled her little stomach making her giggle and squirm in Dave's arms.

"Alright it's my time now lil girl." Dave said before taking my hand and getting down on one knee. "Dave." "I know we weren't on the best terms when we first met, I was a real asshole towards you because I was scared of committing and being a father. You've taught me how to be a man, you've taught me how to love our daughter, you've taught me how to love you. India Marie Daniels, I am so in love with you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you."

He opened the ring box and I gasped. That's one big ass rock. "Will you marry me?" "YES!" I screamed and pulled them into a tight hug. Everyone ran towards us cheering and suddenly fireworks went off. "I love you David Brewster." "I love you India Daniels."

"And we love you too ma ma." We leaned down and kissed Kairi on both of her cheeks and she clapped her tiny hands together.

This is what I live for. This is all I ever wanted in life.

2 MONTHS LATER

We were currently getting ready for Kairi's first birthday. We decided that we should just decorate the backyard since we never use the large space for anything. Some people may think this is a sad day for me since my daughter's birthday is also my mother's death anniversary.

I can't be sad, because I know my mother would want use to celebrate her and Kairi as if they were both here. It's been a hard year for us and I realy just want everyone to be together and be happy. I don't want any drama, any violence, or any other bullshit that can hurt my family. I just want my family to be together and love each other.

"You ready mama." Dave came into the room with Kairi in his arms. I looked at her outfit and smiled in awe. She had on a white shirt with pink letters that read out 'Birthday Girl' along with a pink tutu. She also had on a white crown and white sandals to match.

"You look so pretty mama." I picked her up and kissed her cheek. "Juce!" She cheered and I just shook my head. She's been learning new words and this week it's juce. All she wants is juce.

"You'll get your juice soon mama, hey handsome." I stood on my tippy toes to kiss Dave. "Hey beautiful, you okay?" He asked and I knew he was referring to my mother. "Yes I'm fine, I did everything she asked me to do and I know that she wants me to be happy." "She'd be proud of you mama." He pecked my lips again and smiled.

"Come on before I have to make us late." He ain't lying, he looking too good right now and I know we'd be late even though the party is in our backyard. We walked to the back where everybody was either talking and eating.

"The birthday girl is hereee." I cheered and everyone started clapping as we walked to the table. We had a little baby royal chair for her to sit in since it was her day. We also have something special planned for my mother so today is going to be great.

After a few hours of fun it was finally time for the cake. Dave and I held Kairi as my dad and his parents walked out with the cake in their hands. "Happy birthday to youuu, happy birthday too youuuu, HAPPY BIRTHDAYYY TOO KAIRIIIII, HAPPPYY BIRRRTHDAYYY TOOO YOUUUUU." We all cheered at the end and helped her blow out her candle.

"Happy birthday mama, we love you." "Lub yu." Dave and I looked at each other before smiling at her. "Alright everybody time for the balloon release." Dez, Keyah, and Dearra walked around handing everybody a purple balloon which was her favorite color. We decided that it would be a little depressing for us to visit her grave because we knew it would make everybody sad once we looked at it so we just decided to do a balloon release.

"WE LOVE YOU DENISE." We yelled before releasing the balloons into the air.

I did it mom, I did it for you.

I love you.
