EPILOUGE: HAPPILY EVERY AWKWARD

The wedding was set on a sunny afternoon in an outdoor garden, surrounded by blooming flowers, fairy lights, and their closest friends and family. It was simple, elegant, and surprisingly drama-free—well, almost. Sunghoon had insisted on a small, intimate affair, while Heeseung, ever the dramatic one, had wanted something grander. They compromised, finding the perfect middle ground, and as Sunghoon stood at the altar, he couldn’t help but think that everything had fallen into place in the most awkwardly perfect way.

Sunghoon fidgeted nervously, adjusting his tie for the tenth time. Jay, his best man, snickered beside him. “Relax, Hoon. It’s just a wedding.”

“Easy for you to say. You’re not the one getting married to the most unpredictable guy on the planet,” Sunghoon mumbled, stealing a glance at the guests. Sunghoon’s mother was already dabbing her eyes with a tissue, while Heeseung’s father was enthusiastically chatting with Sunghoon’s dad, likely bragging about the absurdity of how their sons ended up here.

Jay laughed. “You two were made for each other. Who else would turn a blind date into a whole rom-com?”

Sunghoon shot him a playful glare but knew he was right. The past few months had been a whirlwind of dates, declarations, and hilarious mishaps that only they could pull off. And now, they were here, ready to make it official.

The music started, and Sunghoon’s heart skipped a beat as he watched Heeseung make his way down the aisle. Dressed in a sharp suit with a bright smile, Heeseung looked every bit the charming, cheeky man Sunghoon had fallen for. But behind that smile, Sunghoon could see the same mix of nervousness and excitement that he felt.

Heeseung finally reached the altar, his eyes locking onto Sunghoon’s. “Hey, troublemaker,” Heeseung whispered, his voice filled with affection.

“Hey, chaos magnet,” Sunghoon whispered back, his nerves melting away the moment he looked into Heeseung’s eyes.

The ceremony was sweet, filled with laughter and lighthearted moments that were so perfectly them. They exchanged vows that were heartfelt, with just the right amount of teasing. Heeseung promised to always be there to fix Sunghoon’s coffee, even when he complained it was too bitter. Sunghoon promised to never let Heeseung get away with wearing mismatched socks, even if he claimed it was a “fashion statement.”

When it was time for the rings, Sunghoon tried to slip Heeseung’s ring onto the wrong hand, earning a round of laughter from the guests. “Oops, wrong finger,” Sunghoon said sheepishly.

Heeseung chuckled, leaning in close. “Still the same Sunghoon who mixed up my business card for a menu on our first date.”

“And you’re still the same Heeseung who doesn’t know when to stop ordering dessert,” Sunghoon quipped, finally placing the ring correctly.

The officiant grinned. “I now pronounce you husband and husband. You may kiss—if you can keep it PG for the guests.”

Heeseung wasted no time, dipping Sunghoon in a dramatic kiss that had the crowd cheering. Sunghoon’s cheeks burned, but he couldn’t help but smile into the kiss, feeling the weight of everything finally fall into place. It wasn’t just a kiss—it was a promise of all the messy, awkward, and beautiful moments to come.

The reception was a blur of laughter, dancing, and questionable karaoke performances. Sunghoon and Heeseung’s first dance was anything but traditional. Halfway through a sweet slow dance, the DJ suddenly switched the song to a fast-paced pop hit, and the two broke out into the ridiculous dance routine they’d secretly practiced, leaving everyone in stitches.

“Did you really just pull out finger guns during our first dance?” Sunghoon laughed as Heeseung spun him around.

“Of course. It’s our signature move!” Heeseung grinned, twirling Sunghoon one last time before they both collapsed into fits of giggles.

Later, as they cut the cake, Heeseung couldn’t resist smashing a bit of frosting onto Sunghoon’s nose. Sunghoon retaliated, and soon they were both laughing, faces covered in cake, as their friends and family captured every goofy moment on camera.

Their parents gave toasts filled with loving jabs about their sons’ quirky journey to the altar. Jay’s speech, however, stole the show when he recounted the infamous blind date that had started it all.

“To Sunghoon, who thought he could scare off his date by being weird,” Jay said, raising his glass. “And to Heeseung, who thought, ‘Challenge accepted.’ Here’s to the best mistake that led to the greatest love story of all.”

The guests erupted into cheers, and Heeseung pulled Sunghoon into a side hug. “Guess we’re stuck with each other now.”

Sunghoon rolled his eyes but couldn’t hide his smile. “Yeah, well, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

As the night wound down, Heeseung and Sunghoon snuck away from the crowd, finding a quiet spot overlooking the city. They sat side by side, their hands intertwined as they watched the lights twinkle below.

“We really did it,” Sunghoon said, still in disbelief.

Heeseung nodded, squeezing his hand. “Yeah, we did. And it’s just the beginning.”

Sunghoon rested his head on Heeseung’s shoulder, feeling at peace. They were awkward, unpredictable, and a little bit of a mess, but together, they were perfect.

No more hiding, no more confusion—just them, against the world, ready to tackle whatever came next with laughter and love. It wasn’t a fairy tale ending, but it was theirs, and that made it even better.

Heeseung turned to Sunghoon, his smile bright. “Here’s to our happily ever awkward.”

Sunghoon laughed, leaning in for one last kiss. “Here’s to us.”

And with that, they embraced their future, knowing that with each other, even the most awkward moments could turn into the best memories of all.
