Frostedleaf was sitting in front of Whitefoot, speaking to him. "I am picking mentors for the kits a moon early, I am picking you to mentor Echokit because it seems you two have grown a relationship over the past two moons," Whitefoot said, "I think you should have Whitesight and Flamestep mentor two of them too. Flamestep has been dreaming of mentoring." Frostedleaf suggested, Whitefoot nodded, "Alright, just don't tell them yet, I need to discuss these ideas with Cinderstar." Whitefoot stood up, and his gaze settled on Squirreltail leaving his den, "How is he?" he asked the ginger medicine cat, she shook her head.

"His cough is worse, and he has greencough. We need to keep him in his den and you'll have to take charge again this leafbare," Squirreltail said, he nodded and then he walked up the slope to Cinderstar's den. Leaving Squirreltail and Frostedleaf alone. Frostedleaf thought of how she would ask Squirreltail what she wanted to know. "Squirreltail..." the medicine cat turned to her, "What?" she asked, annoyed. "So... Hypothetically how would one be able to speak to a Dark Forest spirit, hypothetically." she asked slowly, Squirreltail narrowed her eyes at her, "How would I know? I've never gone there, and who would go there. I hope you're not trying to go there, Frostedleaf." Squirreltail turned away, going back to her den, "Squirreltail! Can you not tell anyone about that question? I was just asking." Frostedleaf asked, Squirreltail rolled her eyes but nodded.

Frostedleaf sighed and then she saw Whitesight sitting next to the warriors den, she trotted over to her mate, "Whitesight!" she purred, sitting next to him, he purred, leaning up against her. "How are you my love?" He asked, "I'm doing alright, but somethings been bothering me." she said, "What is it? You can tell me." Whitesight asked, straightening up. "It's been moons and we don't have a clue on who killed Hopepaw!" Frostedleaf exclaimed, her tail lashing slightly, Whitesight bumped her side, "I think I may know who to ask," he said, she turned to him, "Who?"

"Remember how Sharpleap would scare us with stories of The Place of No Stars? When we were kits?" he asked, she nodded, "Mhm, it gave me nightmares." she shuttered, "He told us if we went to sleep and woke up there and if we got injured there we would wake up with the same injury." Whitesight said, unsheathing one of his paws and making a scratching motion. "What are you getting at?" Frostedleaf squinted her eyes at her mate. "You know how at gatherings there used to be rumors about a warrior of HurricaneClan who would somehow 'injure themself' in their sleep," he said, making air quotes with his paws. Frostedleaf thought for a moment then her eyes widened, "Except it wouldn't actually be injuring themself in their sleep it would..." he trailed off on purpose for Forstedleaf to answer it aloud. "The warrior would be training in the Dark Forest! And they just use that excuse to stay out of trouble!" Frostedleaf exclaimed, her tail flicking excitedly, "Exactly." Whitesight said, "Do you remember which cat the rumors said who was a restless sleeper?" Frostedleaf asked, Whitesight nodded, "Who!" "Minofang of HurricaneClan." He said, "And we can speak to them at the gathering tonight."

"We found a lead! We just might be able to find the culprit!" Frostedleaf grinned at Whitesight and he grinned back, "We just need to convince Cinderstar to let us come to the gathering tonight." Frostedleaf jumped to her paws, "I don't think Cinderstar is coming to the gathering tonight!" he exclaimed, he looked at her with a confused expression, "Why not?" "I was talking to Whitefoot and Squirreltail came up to us and said Cinderstar has greencough from the cold! We just need to ask Whitefoot!" she swished tail in excitement, "I'm sure he'll allow us to go! And then we can find Minofang and ask him a few questions! Then we'll be another pawstep closer to solving this murder mystery! Wow, I'd never thought I'd say that... Wow Whitesight! I feel like we're in one of those mystery stories the elders would tell us when we were kits!" she grabbed his paws and beamed at him.

He laughed at her excitement, "It really does feel like it. A mystery! I hope it's not exactly like the stories though, in the stories someone dies because they get too close to the answer." Whitesight glanced down worriedly, "Don't worry! Nobody is dying on our watch!" Frostedleaf said fiercely, smiling with determination. "Now let's go ask Whitefoot if we can go to the gathering!" Frostedleaf said.
