------------------------------------------

It had been two weeks since the day of the press conference, as Faye and Yoko's relationship grew stronger by the day, the age difference starting to make itself felt, like a faint shadow that sometimes frowned at the most unexpected moments. Faye, full of maturity and experiences that life had given her, often found herself dealing with Yoko's impulsiveness, still full of dreams and vibrant emotions that led her to go with the flow without thinking.

That day Faye was sitting at her desk drinking coffee and analyzing some balance sheets when she heard Yoko, who was at her own desk on the other side of the office, complaining that her cupcake order had been sent incorrectly, which reminded her of an incident days before...

Flashback....

One night, while hosting a dinner party at Faye's cozy home, Yoko decided she wanted to prepare a special meal she had seen on social media, hoping to surprise Faye. She was excited, but her enthusiasm quickly faded when she walked into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator to discover that she didn't have the ingredients she needed. Frustration set in.

"There are no ingredients!" Yoko shouted, crossing her arms, her face painted with disappointment and hints of irritation. "I don't understand how there can be no basics!"

"I'm sorry, my girl. I'll write it down and tomorrow I'll tell them to buy more," Maria told her, who was often her voice of reason, trying to calm the emotional storm that was brewing in the kitchen.

Faye, who had just showered after a long day at the office, decided to intervene when she heard the commotion. She walked into the kitchen with a towel around her neck, feeling the air become charged with tension. She breathed deeply, searching for the center of her calm, while watching Yoko, whose irritation was beginning to transform into an almost childish tantrum.

"Yoko, we can order something nice or go shopping," she suggested, trying to hide her frustration with an understanding smile. "It's not the end of the world. Maria does a great job here."

"But I want it to be special!" Yoko replied, with a pout that betrayed her desire to attack. The thin line between her world of expectations and Faye's pragmatism seemed to become increasingly clear.

Throughout dinner, although they finally opted for takeout, the tension remained in the air, thick and palpable. Yoko, feeling the hours passing, became increasingly restless. With her heart beating faster, she decided to let go of what really worried her.

—Faye, I've been thinking... I need you to pay more attention to me, I know we're together most of the day but... We're always in the office where I have to treat you like my boss, then we get here and you're so tired that we don't do anything else, we don't go out much either for fear that someone will spread rumors...

The words fell between them like an ecosystem of shadows. Faye, surprised by Yoko's sincerity, felt a whirlwind of empathy invade her. She would never have imagined that her young lover could feel such insecurities.

—Honey, these are difficult times at the office and you know it. But look, I promise you that we will do something special this weekend, just you and me —Faye announced, her tone becoming soft and understanding, like a hug that wanted to shelter Yoko.

—How special? —Yoko asked, with a curiosity that resurfaced, although a shadow of uncertainty darkened her voice—. I feel like I'm waiting for a perfect moment, but at the same time, I'm afraid it will never come.
