Chapter 22: The Birth of Sonia
The workshop buzzed with activity as Mira tinkered at her workstation, sketching designs for what seemed to be a costume. Team Vapor lounged around, each occupied with their own tasks. Vapor was at his usual station, tightening bolts on a mysterious device. Valore was juggling small sparks of fire between her fingers, Acre was sharpening his sword, Geo was scribbling blueprints, and Nica was trying to build a card castle for the hundredth time.
Mira suddenly stood up, holding a finished sketch triumphantly.
"Guys, I've got it!" she exclaimed.
Everyone paused and turned to her.
"Got what?" Vapor asked, adjusting his goggles.
"A way to fund our projects without relying on government aid," Mira said, placing the sketch on the table. The drawing showed a vibrant persona: bright, punk-inspired clothes, wild hair, and an electric guitar. Beneath the sketch, the name "Sonia" was written in bold, artistic letters.
"Sonia?" Nica asked, leaning over to look at the design. "Who’s that?"
"Me," Mira said proudly. "Or rather, my new identity. I’m going to be an artist—a musician!"

Training with Vapor
Later that day, the sound of an electric guitar echoed through the workshop. Vapor stood next to Mira, his hands expertly guiding her through the chords.
"It’s all about rhythm," Vapor said. "Feel the music. Let it flow."
Mira concentrated, her fingers fumbling slightly as she strummed the strings. The resulting sound was more noise than melody.
"Oops," she said, wincing.
"Don’t worry," Vapor encouraged. "You’ll get it. Remember, even I didn’t nail it on my first try."
Valore leaned against the wall, watching with a smirk. "Never thought I’d see you playing guitar, Mira. Thought you were all about science and inventions."
Mira shot her a look. "Science and music aren’t that different. Both need creativity."
Nica chimed in, clapping her hands. "I think it’s cool! You’ll totally rock as Sonia!"

The First Performance
A week later, Sonia made her debut at a small, cozy venue in Starcove City. Mira, now fully transformed, wore her punk-inspired outfit with bright streaks in her hair and a custom electric guitar slung over her shoulder. The rest of Team Vapor sat at a table near the stage, cheering her on.
"Break a leg, Sonia!" Acre shouted.
Mira took a deep breath and stepped onto the stage. The lights dimmed, and the audience fell silent. She strummed her guitar, this time perfectly. The opening notes of her song filled the room, a mix of energetic riffs and heartfelt lyrics about perseverance and teamwork.
As she played, the audience clapped and cheered. Sonia’s charisma was undeniable, and even though it was her first performance, she owned the stage like a seasoned artist.

Back at the Workshop
After the performance, the team returned to the workshop, still buzzing with excitement.
"You were amazing, Mira!" Nica gushed. "I mean, Sonia."
"Thanks," Mira said, beaming. "And guess what? We made enough money tonight to cover the parts we need for our next project."
Geo gave her a thumbs-up. "Looks like your plan worked. No need for government aid after all."
Vapor crossed his arms, smirking. "Told you we could do it on our own."
Mira looked at him, her expression softening. "Thanks for teaching me the guitar, Vapor. I couldn’t have done it without you."
"Anytime," Vapor said. "And who knows? Maybe I’ll join you on stage one day."
The team laughed, the sound of their camaraderie filling the workshop. Sonia’s debut marked a new chapter for Team Vapor—not just as heroes but as a family finding creative ways to support their mission.
