Chapter 6: Situation Grim

Lazer started getting shot every direction, but they only went around Stella until the vines around Sonic's feet was shot by a lazer making him fall down but stand up right away only to try and dodge the lazers being shot. "New yoke city isn't quite how I remember it." The two ran next to Knucks who was beating up a badnik. "Sonic? Stella? Never thought I'd see your smug mugs again. Where were you two." 

Knucks then punches the badnik who was about to stand up. He then grabs one that was coming at him and threw it away. "Dude, we had zero intention of leaving you, I touched the shard and Stella tried grabbing me only for us both to get zipped into another world with another you, fighting another battle." Sonic explains as he and Stella started fighting alongside with Knucks. "Shard? You mean that energy crystal thingy?" Knucks asked.

"Yeah that." Stella then kicks the back of a badniks head. "Anyways super stoked to be able to be back and help with whatever the heck happened here. Where's Nine I gotta pick his brain about this other shard that we found" Sonic asked. "Nine? I ought to be ask you two the same question. Now do me a solid and pipe down. I got shells to crack." 

Knucks then does a spin dash knocking down 6 badniks. "[Chuckles] Nice spin attack by the way. But I bet you can't do this." Sonic runs over to a pile of dead badniks and starts running making the bodies hit down the alive badniks.

Finally, the badniks started to retreat. Meaning the Resistance won that battle. Everyone started cheering except for Stella she just smiled. Sonic and Stella both turned to Knucks who looked mad at us. "Still bummed about us disappearing, aren't you?" Stella asked. "[growls] Come on. All right everyone scatter." Knucks demanded. Sonic and Stella both run after Knucks.

Deep underground the Resistance Sonic, Stella, and Knucks all entered. "I take it you radioed ahead and let Rebel know what happened." Stella says. "I did."

The three stopped and they heard Rebel. "Look who decided to drop in. Welcome back. Here to face the music?" Rebel asked. "Depends what kind of music... am I sensing a negative vide?" Sonic asked. "Using us to help you two steal the shard then deserting us as soon as you got what you came here for? Yeah I'd say the vibe is pretty negative." Rebel says getting right up Stella and Sonic's faces. "I should let the Chaos Council turn you into a handbag and a pile a scrap."

"Uh, I thought you explained everything." Sonic whispers to Knucks. "I did. She didn't care." "The rodent and robot is lying. Let's toast them."

"Bite me. And we didn't steal the shard." Stella explains. "But your fox friend did, right before he left us high and dry." Knucks explains. "He did?" Sonic asked. "And to think we believed in you both."

After the flashback:

"And tonight, we finally finish what we started." Rebel finishes explaining. "We skip town for a day and you cook up a revolution?" Sonic says confused. "A day? You two have been gone for weeks." Rebel says flying up to Sonic's face again. "Weeks? Really? Time must move differently there."

"Of course it moves differently there. Each universe's timeline moves differently to others." Stella explains. "Really how did you know that?" Sonic asked. "Don't ask questions you don't want the answer to." Stella says. "All that matters right now is taking down the council while we still can." Knucks speaks. "If they get that energy crystal back, we're done for."

"Nine won't let that happen." Sonic says. "You two tell us where he is, and we'll make sure he doesn't." Knucks stomps towards the two making them back up. "How would we know?" Stella asked. "I smell baloney. Let's put the screw with them" Sonic and Stella stop unable to move back. "Come one boss. Let me tear the scoundrel limb from limb"
