A few days later Taylor and Travis decided to take to two younger girls out for a day at the aquarium while Evie was at school. They had been sitting around the house so much while the couple had a lot of work to do so they rewarded them with a nice day out.
Harper and Mal hadn't gotten any closer and harper still wouldn't speak so they had hopes that maybe the girls would interact while they were there.
Taylor got out of the car and slowly made her way around to Mal's side where she opened the door and unbuckled her, before sending her to stand by Travis. She then headed to Harper's side and did the same. When they were all ready they headed inside together and started to walk around.
"Uppies pwease," Mal told Travis, reaching up to him wanting to be held. Travis picked her up and placed her on his hip, walking around with Taylor. Harper soon reached up, also wanting to be held so he put her on his other hip. And pointed out some of the fishes.
Mal giggled looking around at the fish excitedly. "Wook dada," Mal called out excitedly pointing to the fish, too distracted to realize what she just said.
"Yes, they're so cool." Travis told her excitedly, not wanting his reaction to be too big and scare her. Harper immediately wriggled down, tears filling in her eyes and looking at Travis in disbelief. She felt hurt and betrayed by him.
Mal looked over confused. She still hadn't processed what she had just said. Harper just turned away and faced the fish, holding back her tears and trying not to do something that would get her in trouble or that she would regret.
"Wa wong?" Mal asked Harper, sensing that she was upset. Mal still hadn't realized she said dada yet. Harper suddenly got the guts to talk for the first time in over a week and turned to face Mal who Travis was still holding.
"WHY DO YOU TAKE EVERYTHING FROM ME! JUST GO HOME I HATE YOU!" Harper sobbed. Mal froze before tears started to fall. "I no hab another home!" Mal exclaimed back.
"You came from one! You have Evie. Mama and dada all I have and you just taking them too." Harper screamed, walking away from them all and into a big crowd of people while sobbing.
"I no take anyone!" Mal cried out tears still falling.
"It's okay, we know Mal, we know. She's just upset and she's sensitive. Don't worry about it you're all good." Travis told her, calming her down. Taylor stepped in to try and help calm Mal down but quickly ran to grab Harper and bring her back before making Travis put Mal down next to her.
Mal shook her head, starting to get more upset. She didn't choose to be here. She was forced into it and she had been trying to be nice with Harper but nothing worked and now she was being told to go back to her scary old home.
"I going back to gwandmas." Harper told Taylor, turning away from Mal. "Good. No come back!" Mal screamed back, starting to get fed up with everything.
Harper turned away completely and tried to calm herself down. Her grandma had been teaching her to do deep breaths when she gets mad and upset and to try to not react. She just stood there taking deep breaths and then nodded. "I won't, you just have them." She mumbled.
Mal turned away. Taylor sighed and took them outside, deciding it was probably best for them to leave and have some time to talk about it. She took them home and immediately put them both in time out.
Mal crossed her arms, still upset and just wanting Evie at this point. Once their time was up she sat them both on the couch.
Mal continued to look away, refusing to even look at Harper.
"Look at me no. Both of you. You're out of line. You don't talk to each other like that. If you're upset then I understand but those reactions were totally uncalled for and not nice at all! You're both going to say sorry to each other." Taylor told them both in her strict voice.
