Cameron's POV

Hearing that I had mentally regressed yesterday really threw me for a loop. I never had before, and I didn't think anyone really could. I grab the croissant that a customer had ordered and accidentally drop it on the floor.

"Shit." I whisper. "Sorry, I'll grab another one." I look up at the customer. I see their small smile and nod, while I grab them another one.

"What's got you so distracted, kid?" Shay asks as he finishes up their drink order.

"Just yesterday." I sigh. "I guess I had an episode of sorts. I don't remember it, but it's throwing me off."

"It's okay. Parker called me and explained why we needed to reschedule the tasting." Shay claps a hand on my shoulder.

"Thanks, Shay. Sorry again." I look at him.

"Hey, it's okay, kid." He squeezes his hand on my shoulder.

"Would it be okay if we brought one more to the tasting?" I ask, looking at him.

"Sure." He shrugs. "Who is it?"

"Ashton's Mate, Teddy. He's also pregnant." I look at him.

"Sure!" Shay looks at me happily.

"He's also a bit shy." I say sadly. "His old Pack..." I grimace.

"Say no more, kid." Shay nods. "I'll make sure the shop is closed, so it's just the seven of us."

"Seven?" I tilt my head.

"If there's cake, Taylor will be there." He laughs.

"Sounds good. Does tomorrow evening work?" I ask, bringing out my phone.

"Yeah, that's fine." He agrees.

Me: Hey, there's a cake tasting tomorrow evening at the bakery. We were wondering if Teddy would like to come along, just to make sure his baby can stomach the cake we choose for the wedding.

Ash-hole: Yeah, that's fine. We'll be there after closing.

Me: Great! There will be a total of seven people, just so he's prepared. You and him, me and Charlie, and Ethan, Shay, and Taylor. Is that okay?

Ash-hole: That should be fine, thank you for the heads up.

Me: No problem.

"Alright, Ashton says that should be fine." I grin at Shay.

"Awesome." He grins back.

"Oh! I figured something out the other day." I look at him.

"What's that?" He asks.

"Charlie's baby doesn't like sour cream. That's why the brownie tasted off to him." I smile at him.

"How'd you figure that out?" He asks, making a drink for a customer.

"Thank you, have a great day!" I tell a customer as I hand them a pastry. "I found out as I was taking it out of the fridge to make some breakfast. Apparently even that was enough to make him gag."

"Oh wow!" Shay's eyebrows lift. "So early and so strong!"

"Right?" I look at him.

He starts clearing down and goes to flip the sign on the door to 'closed.' He walks back to the counter before leaning on it. "Well, the baby has your blood, so it will likely have some magic affinity. Yours is water and Evie's is earth, right?"

"Yeah." I nod. "I wish I knew how my birth father handled it."

"I'm sorry, kid." He looks at me sadly.
