They came for him the next morning, both Hyukjae and the beta.
“This is it, little omega. Time to leave this place behind.”
“Yes, alpha.”
They hadn’t tied him up again after his shower, though they had replaced the blindfold. Wonwoo had earned some kind of trust, and he hoped he could use it to full advantage.
“Hate to tie you back up again, but the boss likes us to be careful.”
Hyukjae’s hands were almost gentle on his wrists. Wonwoo stayed quiet and compliant, though he made sure to keep his hands as relaxed and spread apart as he could. The more space he took up as the ropes were tied, the more slack he’d have to get free. His ankles were bound too, though with less care than before. And then he was marched up the stairs and outside. He could feel a sharp coldness in the air that promised snow and realized as he was guided across the ground that he was traipsing through it. His foot slipped, and he stumbled, but strong arms caught him.
“Almost there. Just a little farther.”
His captors were being nice, but he knew that was only because he’d made their lives as easy as possible by playing the submissive, meek omega. If he’d pushed back even slightly, which was only natural for someone in his position, they’d have come down on him like a ton of bricks.
It had cost Wonwoo to do that, and even now he felt the stirrings of anger and frustration beneath his skin. He welcomed it, because he knew he’d have to fight to get himself out of this predicament.
Hands lifted him into the back of some sort of vehicle.
He could smell a hint of gas and dust as he was walked right inside and placed sitting against one wall. Hyukjae took his bound hands and guided them to the bench between his legs.
“You’ll want to hold on. Journey might get rocky.”
He spoke to the beta, who seemed to be right next to them.
“You keep your hands off him. Your job is to make sure he gets to our destination in one piece.”
He must have turned back to Wonwoo because the omega felt a hand on his shoulder. “I know you’ll be quiet, but this is just to make sure.”
Wonwoo groaned inwardly, knowing what was coming.
Sure enough, a piece of cloth was forced between his lips and tied tightly behind his head. At least they hadn’t tied his wrists behind him. That would make what he needed to do a lot harder. Hell, having the beta in here watching him wasn’t going to make this easy either. But the anger pumping through Wonwoo’s veins was going to come in handy.
Hyukjae pushed Wonwoo’s shoulders back until they were pressed to the wall of the van.
“There, good to go.”
“I could drive,” the beta suggested suddenly.
Wonwoo almost tensed at that. Whatever chance he had of escaping with the idiot beta in the back with him, he had no chance with Hyukjae watching his every move. The alpha was too perceptive by far.
“Last time you drove in the snow, you took the car off the road. Not risking that again—we’ve got a schedule to keep.”
“At least let me sit up front. I get sick in the back, watching the truck sway.”
“Then close your fucking eyes and stop complaining to me,” Hyukjae snapped.
The beta wisely chose to shut up.
