His homecoming was completely eclipsed by the arrival of the triplets, but Wonwoo couldn’t care less. He had his babies, his alpha, and his pack. That was all that mattered.

The first few weeks were hard for all sorts of reasons. The world had taken an interest in his story, and their growing pack, so they spent their time inside the orchard walls for privacy while they waited out their visitors. People lost interest eventually, to everyone’s relief, and their quiet solitude returned.

The babies weren’t what Wonwoo expected them to be. Sure, they were hard work and the cause of many sleepless nights. All the things everyone warned him they’d be. But he was too full of contentment to think about that. In the rare moments those thoughts did surface, they were drowned out the second he saw one of the babies in Mingyu’s arms. The sight of the alpha carrying a baby over his shoulder was enough to make Wonwoo swoon at the best of times, a warm, happy feeling settling inside him. He knew it was probably hormones, stuff that would wear off eventually, but he was content to enjoy every minute of it while it lasted.

Ready?

Wonwoo glanced up at Mingyu, who had Mark in a sling on his back and Sunoo in his arms. He picked Beomgyu up and grinned. “I can’t wait.

It was the day they were finally moving out to the cottage. After a month in the main house, with eight babies causing chaos, he was looking forward to them having their own space.

Then let’s go.

They wrapped up warmly since it was still cold out, though the first signs of spring were making themselves known at long last. Wonwoo tucked a tiny hat down over Beomgyu’s ears and made sure his hands were safely inside the blanket he was swaddled in. Even though it was only a few minutes’ walk, he couldn’t stand the thought of the babies being cold. His own brush with the elements had left him with a worry he wasn’t sure would ever leave. But the worry always faded into the background when Mingyu was there. He marveled, not for the first time, at the trust he had in Mingyu. After all he’d suffered at the hands of alphas, it should have been hard to give himself body and soul to another. And yet, it wasn’t. Mingyu made it easy.

And we’re off.

The alpha grinned at him, taking him by the hand. They waved goodbye to Jeonghan and the others, Wonwoo feeling a little silly since they were going to be seeing them again for dinner in a few hours. Still, it was symbolic. They were striking out on their own, leaving the center of the pack to start their little family on the periphery. He’d be glad of the privacy, though he would miss the closeness. He’d finally found some common ground with Jeonghan now that they were both parents. But he knew the omega was only a phone call away. Practically within shouting distance, if Wonwoo was desperate.

They crunched through the melting snow, the world halfway between winter wonderland and soggy spring. It didn’t take away from the beauty of the trees, all framed in glistening white. The little bundle of perfection in his arms slept through the journey, barely doing more than wrinkling his nose as Wonwoo shielded him from the cold as best he could. Mark, on Mingyu’s back, was awake and taking in the world. Wonwoo suspected he’d take after Mingyu in more ways than one, what with being alpha but also unusually observant for a baby his age. From the few peeks he got at Sunoo’s face, he suspected the little omega was also fast asleep. He was never more content than when he was in Mingyu’s arms. Wonwoo knew the feeling, and he was excited at the prospect of having Mingyu all to himself in their new house.

Almost there,” Mingyu said, tightening his grip on Wonwoo’s arm when the omega’s foot slipped from under him.

I can’t wait.
