Chapter 16

Our parents weren't still aware that we're keeping the Boss of the Primo mob inside the main mansion. Kaming tatlo lang ang nakakaalam, and we're still planning kung ano ang gagawin namin kay Zephyr. She was transferred to the attic, it's kind of a small dungeon but a bedroom. I sedated her while she was asleep tapos binuhat na nung dalawa discreetly.

Siyempre sa laki ba naman mansion, magkalayo yung infirmary sa attic. Buti na lang sinigurado kong hindi namin ma-encounter magulang namin or even Papshy Vanity.

I'm currently in front of the door to the attic, hawak ko ang tray with her food. I looked around me before quickly entering the room.

"Oh hey, dolce amore." Nakahiga siya sa bed at nilalaro yung bola, it was my childhood toy. Dito kasi naka-store lahat ng mga childhood toys naming magkakapatid. I just hoped that toys lang ang nandito.

Well, pinalinis ko naman before namin naisipang dito ikulong si Zephyr.

"Kain ka na." Nilapag ko yung pagkain sa bedside table.

She stared at me before sitting up and tried to pull me into the bed with her pero agad din akong tumayo at sinapok yung ulo niya.

"Ouch!"

"Anong ginagawa mo?!" I crossed my arms.

She chuckled. "I thought you said kain na ako."

I raised a brow at her realizing what this bitch just had said. "Gaga ka, yung pagkain ang tinutukoy ko." I pointed at the food on the tray.

"I'm not hungry."

I scoffed, kinuha ko yung bowl with fried rice and the spoon. I scooped and brought the spoon to her mouth.

"Ibuka mo, isa!" I scolded her.

She looked at me with disbelief but with a hint of amusement in her eyes. She then opened her mouth as I fed her.

"Damn, mother Valor, you have to chill." She said while chewing.

"Don't speak while your mouth is full."

"Yes, Mami."

I rolled my eyes at her.

I find it ridiculous that the situation turned upside down. Noon ako ang captive, tapos ngayon siya na ang bihag ko.

I stared at her for too long, pinaponuod ko lang naman siyang kumain. She also wore my clothes which is medyo bitin sa kanya dahil mas matangkad at malaki kaysa sa akin. I admit that she looked hot with my clothes on pero potangina niya.

Her saving me from those bullets is not enough to say that she could be an ally to us. She resented our family so much, alam kong may binabalak 'to. And I'm going to make sure na malalaman ko din kung ano ang next move niya. It's an advantage that we held her captive though.

"I'm going to melt, dolce amore. But it's okay, continue staring at me." Kinindatan niya ako.

"Fucker!"

"I'm curious bakit hindi pa ako binibisita ng mga older Antonov. Or you didn't even tell them that you hid a major enemy in your attic?" She smirked.

Hindi ko siya sinagot, kinuha ko lang yung pinagkainan niya at papalabas na.

"Send my regards to Vanity and Vodka." She yelled before I closed the door.

No, they can't know it yet.

Nagulat na lang ako nung nakita ko si Ate Vaughn na nakasandal sa isang statue. I saw a maid passing by so I gave her the tray.

"Ate Vaughn?" Lumapit siya sa akin.

"Good that you're done feeding the beast. Para may energy siya sa gagawin ko." She said cracking her knuckles.

Hinawakan ko ang braso niya. "Ate Vaughn, anong binabalak mong gawin sa kanya?"

"Punish her, of course. After what she has done to you? Simula pa lang ito-"

"But have you forgotten that she also saved me from those goons?" I tried to stop her.

About those goons, Ate Vaughn had sent spies and detectives para imbestigahan kung sino yung umatake sa amin sa cafe. Ang pinagtataka ko, bakit wala man lang nagpaiwan sa mga tauhan ni Zephyr.

I'm afraid of what Ate Vaughn can do, I saw how she fights. It's deadly. Nakuha niya ang Antonov fighting style.

She furrowed her brows at me. "That's not enough to change our mind about our enemy, li'l sis."

Oo, sabi ko nga. Pero Ate Vaughn naman.

"We haven't discussed this yet about, Ate Vaughn. You can't just go there and punish her, we-"

"No, Nyx. Teka, it seems like you're protecting that woman. Don't tell me that you've developed Stockholm Syndrome while being held captive?" She accused.

"Luh, di ah. Wala akong feelings sa kanya Ate Vaughn. I despise her as much as you do pero we should talk this through first, to be fair." I pleaded.

Tumahimik muna siya bago tumango. "Fine... In one favor, we have to tell our parents and Papshy Vanity about this. We captured a big fish here, Nyx, and thanks to you."

I shook my head. "I don't agree with that. We can't tell them about her yet."

"What even is stopping you? That woman is dangerous, Nyx. Naiintindihin mo ba?" She held both my arms gently.

"Of course, pero kasi..." I sighed. "Alright, do you want to know what's really stopping me? Her younger sister is my best friend, without my prior knowledge. Nalaman ko lang kanina when Vlad revealed it to me since nakiki-close siya sa best friend ko. Vlad met Zephyr in their mansion, pero siyempre hindi niya alam na isa palang Primo kaharap niya."

"It's a blood bath, Nyx. A never ending Vendetta. A member of the family will take revenge when their family is dead, the same thing happens maghihigante din pabalik yung nadali. It's a cycle of violence... so being in the family of Mafia can kill the weakest. That's why Dada also pursued to train both of you and Vlad, since you're already involved." She sighed.

"I know that, Ate Vaughn. Ang sa akin lang, I can't see my best friend cry because my family will kill her last family. The fact that our family had killed the whole of them without her even knowing about it. It makes me sick realizing that I carry the blood of her family since I'm part of this family." Naiiyak kong saad.

She then pulled me into a hug. I sobbed into her arms.

"Alright, alam kong ako ang mas mapapagalitan sa ating tatlo dahil ako ang mas nakatatanda. But I will do this for you, li'l sis. I will agree that we will keep her a secret from them. Tell me whenever you're ready, don't worry about it. It's on me." She hugged me tighter.

"Thank you very much, Ate Vaughn. I'm glad you understand."

It's so messed up of what's been going on around us, our family. Pero what can we do, wala naman na tayong magagawa. We were born as Antonov, eh di go.

While our family had it's advantages, there will always be disadvantages that shadows it. We have to face the consequences of each of our actions.

Alam kong talagang magagalit si Zenith if nalaman niya ang lahat ng totoo. We're the culprit of her and her sister being an orphan, the guilt is killing me.

Now, I understand why Zenith uses a different surname. It's to protect her from other Mafias, from us.
