Amortentia

It's only the next morning.

"I fucking hate this." grumbled a hangover Pansy.

"Well, it's your own fault. You chose to drink a shit load of alcohol." I commented. Pansy glared at me.

"When will it be over?" whined Daphne as I rubbed her back

"Where're the boys?" asked Astoria. We were already down a breakfast and it's almost 8am.

"Either the boys slept through their alarm or they threw it out the window and never woke up again." I smiled. As much as how I loved seeing the state of them being hangover, I knew they would be doing terrible shit during classes.

"Ok, here's what you're going to do; You're going to go to the Hospital Wing, ask Madam Pomfrey for something for hangovers, take whatever shit she gives you, and you're gonna go through the day. Ok?" I told the girls. They knew they were gonna lose house points, but it'll only be 5 house points, and at least that's better than ALL the Professor's in every class finding out and removing at least 10 house points from each of them.

I helped the girls towards the Hospital Wing and as predicted, Madam Pomfrey removed 5 house points from Slytherin, and gave the girls a small potion for the hangovers.

"It'll be gone in 5 minutes." She said. The girls and I walked off and headed to lockers and then walked towards Herbology.

"So, what are you guys doing this summer?" Daphne asked as we were walking downhill.

"It's almost the end of April." I pointed out.

"Still."

"I think I'm going to do some summer shopping sprees, obviously hang out with Blaise," Pansy grinned and started blushing as Daphne, Astoria and I smirked at her.

"And then I'm coming to yours for the whole of August. As per usual." She finished.

"Well, Daph, I am your sister and you are apart of everything I am doing this summer and I am apart of all your plans, as well." Astoria answered.

"And you, Y/n?" Daphne asked. I can't believe I'm saying this but, I think I'm choosing to go home. I know, that might be a bad idea, but I just miss being home. Obviously not my family, just the surroundings in general. I've already written a letter, saying that I'll finally go back home for the summer as my Family wouldn't stop sending me letters to force me to come home, but I am choosing to go. Why? I don't even know! But, I haven't sent it yet. It's in the envelope, on my nightstand, but I just keep staring at it and thinking if I should send it or burn it.

"I don't know." I finally replied.

"Alright, then you're definitely coming to our summer house." Astoria said.

"I don't think I'll be able too." I whispered, but I think they heard me. They all stopped in their tracks.

"What d'you mean?" asked Pansy with curiosity. I hesitated and I decided I would tell them.

"I'm thinking about going back home. I just want to be in a more familiar surrounding and I just miss it." I explained.

"Oh, Y/n. Why?" whined Pansy. They all started walking again.

"Well, I already said, because I miss home and I want to be in my surroundings again. But I haven't sent a letter to my parents about it yet. Well, I have written one, but I don't know if I should send it or not." I explained again.

"Don't!" The girls all shouted in unison.

"We won't be able to see you over the summer!" Astoria complained.

"I can convince them, you know. I've done it countless of times." I assured them. We finally approached the Green House. Herbology was nice, I guess. I couldn't really focus on anything, due to the horrific smell in there, and neither could the girls or anyone else in the class.

"Ah! Fresh air! How I've missed you!" Pansy spoke as we finally left.

"Merlin, what was that smell in there?" Daphne asked.

"It'll be a mystery." I replied. We made our way to Potions and Professor Snape had us surround his cauldron. There was a nice smell to it. It was like the smell of a freshly lit fire, roses, and the smell of a broomstick handle. I've definitely smelt it somewhere.

"Can anyone guess what this Potion is?" asked Snape. Hermione's hand shot straight up,

"Yes, Granger." Snape said in annoyance.

"It is Amortentia, the most powerful love potion in the world. It's rumoured to smell differently to each person, according to what attracts them. For example, I smell, freshly mown grass, and parchment and...spearmint...toothpaste." Hermione seemed flustered as she smelt the Potion. It doesn't take a genius to know who she smelt; Ronald Weasley.

"Yes, correct. Amortentia doesn't create actual love. What it does create, is a powerful infatuation or obsession from the drinker." Professor Snape explained. As we sat down in our seats, Lorenzo seemed more nervous than usual.

"You ok?" Theodore asked him as he sat behind us. Lorenzo turned around and nodded with a "Mhm,". Odd.

Where did this smell come from? I know I've smelt it before, but where? Eh, it'll come to me. I took my usual notes, and also, guess who sat at the middle table at the front on he class: Daisy Rose. And she seemed to be concentrating, that's something she doesn't do often. She's taking notes rather quickly, she's listening intently to every word Professor Snape is saying. What's she up too? Possibly trying to impress Snape into not giving her detention for the 5th time this week.

The smell was rather calming, but it irritated me because WHERE THE FUCK HAVE I SMELT THIS BEFORE?! I feel so fucking stupid for not knowing where it's from. I couldn't concentrate, 'till Professor Snape finally put the lid on the cauldron, and the smell finally stopped.

The rest of the lesson was dull, but Daisy looked eager too leave. I mean, she's always eager to leave lessons, but today, today she was definitely in a rush for something. I wonder what.

Anyways, after Potions we were all so tired and exhausted, we ended up going to the boys' dorm room and skip the rest of the day. We just chatted for a while until Pansy, Daphne, Astoria and I decided to go back to our dorm.

When we arrived, we changed into some pyjamas and the girls watched a movie, as I read a book for the rest of the day.
