Lucy's POV
Lucy: "I can't wait to go see Lydia! She's supposed to be coming with her daughter to this restaurant. I'll be home later, maybe 11pm?"
Celina: "Alright, you have fun, and make sure to tell me if she has any dark auras."
Grey: "Chen! My office!"
What's this about? This better be a job promotion or else I'll be mad. I walk towards the glass walls of Grey's office and I open the door.
Lucy: "You wanted to see me sir?"
Grey: "Yes, you may want to sit down for this though."
Confused, I sit down. Is this really going to be that bad? Am I in trouble?
Grey: "So I have just became aware of something, were you supposed to meet a Lydia Smith today?"
Lucy: "Yeah, why?"
Grey: "As they were checking in earlier this afternoon, Lydia and Talia were in a car crash. Lydia didn't make it, I'm sorry."
Lydia? No, Grey must be mistaken. She was the most cautious driver. She can't leave behind Talia. This can't be true. I place my head in my hands and just let the tears flow.
Grey: "Chen, there is also another thing. You were left in her will. You are supposed to take care of Talia now."
Lucy: "Are they at the hospital?"
Grey: "Yes, at Shaw Memorial. Talia was not hurt too much, but they might keep her for a bit to make sure that everything is okay."
I nod. My world just crashed into a million pieces. What about Talia? I've only met her once, maybe twice, how could I do this?
Grey: "I'll give you a few days off to figure everything out. I'm so sorry, Lucy."
I say thanks and I walk out of his office with tears streaming down my face. I walk to my car and start the engine. When I reach outside, the world seems... darker.
